PRODUCT DETAILS

Mishimoto Turbo Inlet Pipe - 2017-2021 Honda Civic Type R (FK8)

The turbo inlet is the last thing air passes through before the turbo, and while the FK8's factory inlet is a solid cast-aluminum piece, its internal pathway leaves airflow on the table. This Mishimoto inlet opens it up: CNC-machined and mandrel-bent aluminum that flows 16.7% better on the bench, feeding the turbo more freely for better spool. One important thing to know up front, this is an upgrade for the Mishimoto Performance Intake, not a standalone part. It won't fit the stock airbox. Available in black or red.

Read This First: Requires The Mishimoto Intake

The most important thing on this page, because this won't work on a stock intake.

This inlet pipe is designed to pair with the Mishimoto Performance Intake for the FK8. The included silicone coupler mates the intake's MAF housing to this larger inlet pipe, so it connects to the Mishimoto intake, not the factory airbox.

It does not fit the OEM intake system. If you're still on your stock intake, you'll need the Mishimoto intake first, this is the next step after it, not a standalone bolt-on. If you already run the Mishimoto intake, this is the piece that opens up the last restriction between the airbox and the turbo.

16.7% Less Restriction To The Turbo

The flow gain, and where it comes from.

The factory inlet pipe flows fine for a stock or lightly modified car, but its internal pathway isn't optimized for maximum airflow. Mishimoto used 3D printing, CAD modeling, and flow bench testing to design a better path from the airbox to the turbo, and the result is 16.7% less restrictive than the stock inlet.

Less restriction right at the turbo's mouth means air reaches the compressor more freely, which helps spool and gives more consistent airflow through the rev range. On a car where you're chasing every airflow improvement, the inlet is one of the real restrictions worth clearing.

Built Right: Cast Flange, Mandrel-Bent Pipe

The construction is proper, not a generic pipe.

The turbo compressor connection is a CNC-machined cast-aluminum flange made to OEM specifications, so it bolts to the turbo with a perfect factory fit, no leaks, no fettling. The upper section is mandrel-bent aluminum, TIG-welded to the cast lower, which keeps a consistent diameter through the bends for clean flow.

The pipe is bead-rolled where the coupler connects, which gives the silicone something to grip and ensures a leak-free seal under boost. It's the fit-and-finish detail that separates a part that seals reliably from one that creeps and leaks.

A Complete Kit

Everything to install it comes in the box.

Along with the inlet pipe, the kit includes a 4-ply silicone coupler to mate it to the Mishimoto intake's MAF housing, a CNC-machined EVAP hose adapter flange so your EVAP line connects cleanly, stainless-steel worm-gear clamps, and mounting hardware. Nothing else to source, it's a complete bolt-on for a car already running the Mishimoto intake.

Black Or Red

Two micro-wrinkle powder-coat finishes, black (MMAI-CTR-17UBK) or red (MMAI-CTR-17URD), so the pipe either blends into the engine bay or contrasts against it. Both are the same part with the same performance, so it's purely how you want it to look. Since it's visible under the hood, it's a clean aesthetic upgrade either way, and it matches the look of the Mishimoto intake it pairs with.

Fitment

2017-2021 Honda Civic Type R (FK8, K20C1)

Requires the Mishimoto Performance Intake. Does not fit the OEM intake. Black (MMAI-CTR-17UBK) or red (MMAI-CTR-17URD).

Who Should Grab This

This is for the FK8 owner already running the Mishimoto Performance Intake who wants to clear the last airflow restriction between the airbox and the turbo. 16.7% less restrictive on the bench, a cast flange that bolts up like factory, bead-rolled for a leak-free seal, and a complete kit in black or red. It's the natural next step after the intake. If you're still on the stock airbox, grab the intake first, then add this.

Fits: 2017-2021 Honda Civic Type R (FK8, K20C1). Part numbers: MMAI-CTR-17UBK (black), MMAI-CTR-17URD (red). Requires: Mishimoto Performance Intake (does not fit OEM intake). Flow: 16.7% less restrictive than stock inlet. Construction: CNC-machined cast-aluminum turbo flange, mandrel-bent aluminum pipe, TIG-welded, bead-rolled. Finishes: micro-wrinkle powder-coat, black or red. Includes: inlet pipe, 4-ply silicone coupler, EVAP adapter flange, stainless clamps, hardware. Warranty: Mishimoto lifetime.
