Description

COBB Tuning Redline Carbon Fiber Cold Air Intake - 2023-2027 Honda Civic Type R (FL5) & 2024-2027 Acura Integra Type S (DE5)

The COBB Redline is the carbon-fiber flagship of the FL5 and DE5 intake world, and it earns that spot on both fronts: it flows real air into the K20C1 turbo and it looks like a showpiece doing it. The factory intake is built to be quiet and cheap to produce, which means it's restrictive, and on a turbocharged car every bit of restriction ahead of the compressor is airflow and response you're leaving on the table. The Redline replaces the whole factory airbox with an integrated carbon-fiber airbox and scoop that feeds the turbo more air with less turbulence, while turning your engine bay into the centerpiece it should be.

Real 2x2 Twill Carbon Fiber

This is a true carbon intake, not a plastic box with a carbon-look lid. The airbox is built from multiple layers of 2x2 twill carbon fiber sheet and finished in a high-quality gloss clear coat that resists fading from engine-bay heat and UV. A bespoke black Redline badge sits at the front of the integrated ducting, and the airbox lid pops off for filter service with a satisfying billet knob rather than a handful of screws. Because the carbon is hand-laid, slight imperfections or small variances in the weave pattern are normal and part of the nature of real carbon fiber, not defects.

The Velocity Stack MAF Housing

The clever engineering here is in how the intake manages airflow, because a high-flow intake is only as good as the MAF readings it gives the ECU. COBB uses a CFD-designed velocity stack and an airflow straightener grid to smooth the incoming air as it passes the mass airflow sensor, which keeps those readings precise instead of noisy, so the tune can actually trust the signal. The MAF housing's cross-section is 36% larger than stock to let more air through, and it's a one-piece high-temperature plastic composite, which saves weight and reduces heat soak into the intake charge compared to a metal housing. The housing bolts to the airbox through a black anodized billet aluminum adapter, and a wire-reinforced black silicone coupler is clamped at both ends with black anodized clamps for a clean, sealed install.

This Requires a Tune

Read this before you buy, because it's not optional. The Redline intake changes airflow enough that it must be tuned to run correctly, and it's designed around COBB's Stage 1+ and Stage 2 Off The Shelf maps. That means you need a COBB Accessport and the matching OTS map for your setup; this is not a plug-and-play part you can bolt on and drive on the stock tune. Match the map to the parts you're running (check COBB's map notes for your exact combination), and the intake does its job safely. Skip the tune and the car won't read airflow correctly, so budget for the Accessport and calibration as part of this upgrade.

Install and Service

For an intake with an integrated airbox and scoop, this is about as straightforward as it gets. The supplied brackets and hardware let the whole assembly drop into place in a few minutes once you follow COBB's instructions, and the large pre-oiled filter sits inside the box feeding the MAF housing. After the initial install, servicing the filter is easy thanks to that billet-knob lid, so routine cleaning doesn't mean disassembling the intake.

50-State Legal

The Redline intake is legal for sale and use on emissions-controlled vehicles in all 50 states when used per COBB's application guide, under CARB Executive Order numbers D-660-272 and D-660-330. In plain terms, it's CARB-approved, so it won't put you crossways with a smog check.
