The center bushing is machined from 6061 aluminum with a protective anodized finish, so it's strong exactly where it needs to be.

Delrin and aluminum also fix a problem the old rubber parts had: corrosion. These won't rust, so they keep feeling great for years instead of degrading in the damp and road grime. Installed with the supplied high-temperature grease, they stay smooth for the long haul.
