Wunderladen Racing Oil Catch Can - 2016-2026 Honda Civic / 2023-2026 Acura Integra
Here's what's quietly happening in your Civic or Integra every time you drive it. The crankcase builds up pressure and vapor, and the factory PCV setup routes that vapor right back into your intake. The problem's that it's carrying oil mist with it. That oil's coating the inside of your intake manifold and baking onto your intake valves a little more every drive. And since these engines are direct injection there's no fuel spraying over the valves to wash them clean, so it just keeps stacking up. On top of that the oil vapor's dropping the effective octane of the air you're burning, and that's the last thing you want on a boosted car. Wunderladen Racing built this oil catch can to stop all that before it starts. It's catching the oil vapor before it ever gets back into your intake, dropping it into the can, and sending clean air on through. You drain it now and then and you've kept all that gunk out of your engine. That's the whole idea.
Here's What That Oil Vapor's Actually Doing To Your Engine
Your crankcase makes blow-by. It's a mix of air, fuel vapor, and oil mist that's sneaking past the piston rings under combustion. That pressure's got to vent somewhere, so the PCV system sends it back into the intake to get burned off. Thing is it's dragging oil along with it. That oil's coating your intake tract and cooking onto your valves over time. And like we said, these direct injection engines don't spray fuel at the valves, so nothing's cleaning them off. The deposits just build and build. Then there's the octane side of it. That oil in your intake charge is lowering your effective octane, which can nudge you toward knock and have the car pulling timing when you're on boost. Wunderladen's catch can stops the oil before it ever gets there. You're keeping your intake clean, your valves clean, and your air charge clean.
Diverter Plate And Triple Baffle - Wunderladen Didn't Phone This One In
A catch can's only worth running if it actually pulls the oil out of the air, and a lot of them don't. An empty hollow can isn't doing much. Wunderladen built this one right. It's got a diverter plate paired with a triple baffle design inside, so the vapor's forced to change direction and slow down once it's in the can. That's what makes the oil fall out and collect in the bottom instead of carrying on through to your intake. The air that keeps going is clean. You're not bolting on a can that just looks the part, you're running one that's doing the job it's supposed to do.
Easy To Drain, Easy To Forget About
Wunderladen put a petcock drain on the bottom, so emptying it's about as painless as it gets. You crack the petcock, let the oil drain into a container, close it back up, and you're done. You're not pulling the can off the car and you're not making a mess. Just check it when you're doing your normal maintenance, drain it when there's oil sitting in it, and get on with your day. It's the kind of mod that quietly does its thing in the background once it's on the car.
Bolt It On - And Yeah, It Works With Flex Fuel
This is a straightforward bolt-on and Wunderladen packs everything you need in the box. You're getting the mounting bracket, the vacuum hoses, the oil drain hose and fittings, the hose clamps, and the mounting hardware, so you're not halfway through the install realizing you're missing something. And if you're running a firewall mounted flex fuel kit, you're good, because this catch can's built to work alongside one. You bolt it in, route your hoses, and you've got your intake protected.
Pick Your Hose Color
You can grab the kit with black, blue, or red hoses, so you're matching it to your bay or throwing in a bit of contrast, whatever you're going for. They all work exactly the same, so it's purely your call on the look.
