This joint is a primary pivot for the rear upper arm and it directly affects how consistently rear camber and toe are held under load because it locates the knuckle relative to the chassis through the upper link.

In factory form, this location typically uses bonded rubber bushings. Rubber compliance can allow the rear alignment to move as suspension load changes, and aged rubber can further increase unwanted movement at the knuckle pivot.
