Whiteline Front Strut Offset Mounts (KCA570) - FK8 & FL5 Civic Type R
The factory Type R front end is already sharp, but it's set up conservatively on camber and caster because Honda has to build a car that works for everyone. These Whiteline offset mounts change that. They add 0.5 degrees of negative camber and 0.5 degrees of positive caster over stock, and on a car that's genuinely fast, that's the difference between a front end that's good and one that's dialed.
What Camber And Caster Actually Do
Two separate gains, and they work together.
Negative camber tilts the top of the wheel inward. That matters because a tire doesn't stay flat when you load it in a corner, the car rolls and the tire rolls onto its outside shoulder. Starting with negative camber means that as the car loads up, the tire arrives flat instead of riding on its edge. More contact patch doing work, more grip, and considerably less shoulder wear on a car that sees track days.
Positive caster is the one people underestimate. It improves straight-line stability at speed and adds self-centering to the steering, so the wheel wants to return on its own. It also gains you dynamic camber as you turn, meaning the outside wheel picks up additional negative camber exactly when it needs it.
Together they give you sharper turn-in, more cornering grip, and better high-speed stability. On an FK8 or FL5, all three are things you'll feel at a track day.
You Don't Give Up Ride Quality
This is what separates offset mounts from other ways of getting camber.
You could chase camber with adjustable arms, camber plates, or by lowering the car. Camber plates in particular often use spherical bearings that transmit considerably more noise and harshness into the cabin, which is fine on a race car and less fine on a Type R you drive to work.
Offset mounts relocate the strut's mounting position instead. You get the alignment change without introducing a new source of NVH, and the car rides essentially as it did before. That's why this suits a car that's still a daily as well as a track weapon.
Lowered? Look At The Roll Center Kit Too
Worth knowing if your car is on springs or coilovers, because these two products fix different problems and a lot of people need both.
These offset mounts correct your camber and caster, which is about how the tire meets the road. Lowering the car creates a separate issue: your front roll center drops, which gives the body more leverage to roll and can make a lowered car roll more than a stock one even on stiffer springs.
That's what the Whiteline front roll center correction kit addresses, using extended lower ball joints to put the roll center back where it belongs. If your Type R is lowered more than an inch or so, running both is how you get the front geometry properly sorted rather than partially.
Completely Bolt On
No cutting, no drilling, no fabrication. They install in the factory location and work with both OE and aftermarket struts, provided you're running OE diameter springs.
Everything you need is in the box: two strut mounts, two bushings, twenty bolts, and six washers. One kit covers the front axle.
Book An Alignment
Worth stating plainly. You're changing camber and caster by design, so the car needs to be aligned afterward to take advantage of it and to make sure toe is where it should be.
Go somewhere that understands performance alignment rather than a chain that'll just pull everything to factory spec. The whole point of gaining camber is using it, and a shop that doesn't understand that will try to correct it back out.

Who Should Run These
This is for the Type R owner chasing the last bit of front end precision, and for the Civic or Si owner who wants more camber than the factory gives without going to plates or arms. Track days, time attack, autocross, or a fast road car where turn-in matters. It's a bolt-on change to your suspension geometry that doesn't cost you anything in comfort, which is a rare combination. Fit them, get a proper alignment, and go use the front tires.
