Whiteline Inner Rear Control Arm Bushing Kit 16-21 Civic

The rear pivot on a 10th gen Civic front lower control arm is a big, heavily voided compliance bushing. Honda voids it on purpose to keep the ride soft, and that same softness is what lets the arm walk fore and aft under braking and throttle. This Whiteline kit, part number W53619, fills those voids with two polyurethane inserts. Read the position carefully before you order: this is the inner rear control arm bushing kit, the rearward of the two inner pivots. The forward pivot uses the separate W53618 full replacement kit, and doing both together sorts the whole arm.

What It Is and Why It Works

Unlike a pressed-in replacement, W53619 is an insert kit. The factory bushing stays in the arm, and the two polyurethane inserts fill its open voids so the rubber can no longer collapse into empty space. Less void means less arm deflection, and on an FC sedan or FK7 hatch that translates to steadier braking, more consistent caster, and steering that responds when you ask instead of a beat later. Because it works with the factory bushing instead of replacing it, this is the rare front end upgrade with no pressing: the inserts go in with the arm on the car, and Whiteline rates the whole job at about an hour. The 2.0L K20C2 and 1.5T L15B7 cars use the same arm, the Si is covered, and Whiteline's current catalog lists this kit for the full 10th gen range including the FK8 Civic Type R. Polyurethane is firmer than rubber, so expect a small step up in road feel; it will never be softer or quieter than stock, and this insert style is the mildest way to get the stiffness.

2017-2020 Honda Civic Si Si 1.5T L15B9

Whiteline's catalog lists W53619 for the 10th gen FC, FK, and FK8 chassis. Note the FK8 Type R is covered by this inner rear kit, but not by the W53618 inner front kit, so Type R owners can only do this position with Whiteline parts.

What to Know Before You Buy

This is the easy half of the front lower arm job and the one to start with. No press, no arm removal, about an hour of driveway time, and you get most of the braking stability improvement the arm has to offer. If you have press access or a shop lined up, pair it with the W53618 inner front kit on FC and FK cars and do the whole arm in one go with one alignment. Grease the inserts on install, a dry poly install is where squeaks come from. Plan on a front alignment afterward. If your Civic is a bone stock commuter and cabin isolation matters more than steering feel, leave the bushings alone; if you autocross, track, or just want the front end to stop flexing before the tires load up, this is the cheapest meaningful bushing upgrade on the 10th gen platform.
