Why "Hybrid" Is The Whole Point

A full vent-to-atmosphere blow-off valve dumps all its air to the outside, which sounds great and causes problems. On a car with a mass airflow sensor, that vented air was already metered, so dumping it makes the ECU deliver fuel for air that's no longer there. The result is a rich stumble between shifts, and often a check engine light. It's also not emissions legal.
This valve is hybrid.
