N1 Or Street Type?

Spoon makes both, and this is the actual decision.

The N1 is race-derived with a focus on sound quality and a larger tip. It flows more than the factory muffler and it's noticeably louder, with the tone Spoon built its reputation on. This is the one you buy because you want the car to announce itself.

The Street Type is the restrained option. Smaller tip, a sporty but street-oriented sound, and considerably more subtle. That's the one for a clean build where you'd rather people notice the badge than the volume.

Neither is better, they're built for different owners. Be honest about which one you are before ordering, because these are not quiet mufflers and the N1 is the louder of the two.

It's An Axle-Back, So Set Expectations

Straight about what this is. You're replacing the rear muffler section, not the whole exhaust. That makes it a direct swap for your factory muffler with no cutting and no fabrication, and it's about as approachable as exhaust work gets.

Spoon notes increased muffler flow over the factory unit, and that's real, but nobody should buy an axle-back expecting meaningful power gains. What you're buying is sound and presence. If you want flow gains, those come from the sections ahead of this one.

Why The Spoon Name Costs What It Does

Spoon has been building and racing Hondas since the 1980s, and their blue and yellow livery has been at circuits around the world long enough that the color alone identifies the brand without anyone reading a logo. That history is what you're buying into.

Check For The Authenticity Markings

Worth knowing, because counterfeit Spoon exhausts turn up regularly and they're convincing in photos.

Genuine Spoon mufflers carry a Spoon Sports plaque above the tip and a serial number plaque on the underside of the canister. If a muffler you're looking at is missing either, that answers the question.

Buy from somewhere you trust. On a part whose entire value is that it's genuinely Spoon, a fake is worth nothing.

Too Loud? There's A Sub-Silencer

Useful to know before you decide the N1 is too much.

Spoon makes a 65mm sub-silencer designed for these mufflers. Fit it when you need the volume down for a commute, an early morning, or a neighborhood you'd rather not wake, and pull it out when you want the full N1 back.

That means you don't have to choose between an exhaust you love and one you can live with, which is the usual tradeoff with a muffler this aggressive.

Pick Your Chassis

Two splits worth noting. The Integra divides by body style, with the DC2 coupe and DB8 sedan taking different mufflers. And the three Fit generations each take their own, so check your years rather than assuming any Fit muffler fits.
