SpeedFactory Titanium VTEC Eliminator Pin Kit F20C F22C
On a drag S2000 or an F-swapped chassis that lives above 8,000 rpm, the VTEC system stops being the party trick and starts being a liability. You're never out of the big lobe anyway, and the oil-pressure-actuated pins and solenoid wiring are just failure points waiting for the worst possible moment mid-run. These SpeedFactory titanium eliminator pins, what the community calls VTEC killer pins, solve that by locking the F20C or F22C1 rockers onto the VTEC lobe permanently.
What It Is and Why It Works
The kit is eight CNC machined titanium pins that replace the factory VTEC locking pins in the rocker assemblies, mechanically locking the rockers together so the engine follows the high-lift cam profile at all times with no oil pressure engagement involved. That gets you three things on a race motor. First, the titanium pins are 29% lighter than stock, cutting 5.2 grams per rocker assembly, and on an engine screaming past 9,000 rpm every gram out of the valvetrain helps the valves track the cam and pushes valve float further away. Second, VTEC can no longer drop out mid-pass from a wiring fault, a solenoid failure, or an oil pressure blip, because there's nothing left to disengage. Third, with the VTEC oil circuit no longer consuming supply, oil pressure to the bottom end and the camshaft spray bars actually increases, which is exactly where you want it on a motor living at redline.
SpeedFactory has run these pins in their own race cars for years, and the install flexibility reflects that experience: the VTEC solenoid can stay on the engine unplugged, where it behaves exactly like a block off plate, or you can run an actual block off. The lost motion assemblies can stay or go, and SpeedFactory recommends removing them so the rocker pads aren't riding the cam's base circle wiping the oil film.

Fitment
| Years | Vehicle | Engine |
| 2000-2003 | Honda S2000 (AP1) | F20C |
| 2004-2009 | Honda S2000 (AP2) | F22C1 |
Fits all F20C and F22C1 VTEC engines, so F-swapped chassis and standalone race engines are covered too. The pins fit the engine, not the car.
Install Notes That Matter
On the F series, lash measured at the valve tip needs to be 0.010 inch intake and 0.012 inch exhaust minimum. SpeedFactory is emphatic about this, and running tighter lash will wear out cam lobes and rocker pads prematurely. Check your cam lobes
