SpeedFactory Street Spec Muffler - 2.5" & 3.0"
Not every build wants to be heard from three blocks away. The Street Spec is our answer for people who want a proper straight-through muffler with real flow and a considerably more subtle note than a race can. Stainless oval body, welded and back purged, with an offset dual wall rolled tip carrying the SFR logo. Available in 2.5 and 3 inch inlets to suit whatever you're building.
The Offset Tip Is Why It Fits
This is the detail that matters most on an EG, EK, or DC, and it's the reason a lot of large body mufflers simply won't work on these cars.
There isn't much room under the rear of a 90s Honda. A big oval muffler with a centered tip pushes the body into places it can't go, which is why people end up with a smaller can than they wanted or a tip sitting somewhere that looks wrong.
Offsetting the tip moves the body where it needs to sit while the tip still exits properly. That's what lets you run a full size oval on a chassis that would otherwise force a compromise, and it's the difference between a muffler that fits and one that almost does.
Quieter Than A Race Muffler, Still Flows
Worth setting expectations honestly.
This is a straight-through design, which means minimal restriction and no power sacrificed to quiet it down. What gives you the sound suppression is the large oval body and premium multi-layer high temp packing, rather than baffles choking the flow.
Compared to our LT-5 Race Muffler, expect a noticeably more subtle note. That's the entire point. If you want loud, the LT-5 is there. If you want a car you can daily without the drone getting old, this is the one.
The multi-layer packing also matters for longevity. Cheap packing burns out and the muffler gets progressively louder over a season or two. This holds its character.
Slip Fit Makes Fabrication Easier
If you're building your own exhaust, this saves you a step.
The inlet is flared to slip fit over your pipe's outside diameter, so you're sliding it on rather than trying to butt weld two pieces at exactly the right angle while lying under the car. Tack it where you want it, check your alignment, and weld it properly.
That's genuinely useful on a K-swap or custom exhaust where you're fitting everything up as you go and want to be able to adjust before committing.
2.5" Or 3.0"?
Match it to the exhaust you're building rather than picking the bigger number.
2.5 inch suits a naturally aspirated build. On a K20 or B-series making moderate power, 2.5 keeps exhaust velocity up where the engine actually uses it, which matters more than peak flow capacity.
3 inch is for a boosted car or a high output all-motor build where you're genuinely moving enough exhaust volume to use it. Oversizing on a smaller engine costs you midrange for a peak number you'll rarely see.
Built Properly
The body and tip are welded and back purged, which is worth understanding. Back purging floods the inside of the joint with inert gas during welding so the weld doesn't oxidize on the back side. It's an extra step a lot of manufacturers skip, and it's the difference between a weld that stays sound and one that becomes a corrosion point.
The tip is dual walled and rolled with the SFR logo laser engraved into it, which is the visible part of the job and the bit people notice.
Consider pairing this Street Spec Muffler with the SpeedFactory Mandrel Bent Piping Kit to have all the pieces needed for your custom exhaust.

Fitment
Designed around these chassis, where the offset tip is what allows a large body muffler to fit:
1992-2000 Honda Civic (EG / EK)
1993-1997 Honda Del Sol
1994-2001 Acura Integra (DC)
Also works as a universal muffler. Any exhaust project where the dimensions suit and you're running 2.5 or 3 inch pipe, this will do the job. Plenty of these end up on platforms well outside the Honda world.
Who Should Run This Muffler
This is for anyone fabricating an exhaust who wants a quality muffler rather than whatever the shop has on the shelf, and for the owner who wants their car to sound good without announcing itself. K-swap builds, custom systems, a straightforward upgrade on an EG, EK, Del Sol, or DC, or any project where you need a good muffler and the right inlet size. Pick your diameter to match your pipe, slip it on, and weld it where you want it.
