SpeedFactory Racing ORB Female Aluminum Weld Bungs -10AN, -12AN, -16AN - Part #SF-11-010-W, SF-11-012-W, SF-11-016-W
Every fabricated aluminum part on a turbo Honda needs a port at some point: a catch can, an overflow tank, a fuel cell, a coolant fill pot, a radiator end tank. The SpeedFactory Racing ORB Female Aluminum Weld Bungs are the ports SpeedFactory welds into its own tanks and radiators, sold one at a time in -10, -12, and -16 so you can put a proper O-ring boss connection anywhere you can get a TIG torch.
What It Is and Why It Works
An ORB bung is a female straight-thread port with a machined face; the male fitting that threads into it carries an O-ring that seals against that face. It's the same port style used on dry sump pumps, fuel rails, and good radiators, and it's far more reliable than an NPT bung, which seals on tapered threads that crack aluminum when overtightened and weep when they aren't. Once the bung is welded in, you thread in whatever ORB-to-AN adapter your line needs and the connection can be taken apart and reassembled forever without touching the weld.
SpeedFactory machines these from 6061-T6 billet with a stepped body. The step gives you a wide shoulder to lay the weld on, so there's more material holding the bung to the tank than on a simple straight-wall bung, and the thread depth is full so the adapter seats properly. Pick -16 for coolant work like a tucked radiator inlet or a fill pot, and -10 or -12 for catch cans, breather tanks, oil tanks, and fuel cell returns.

What to Know Before You Buy
These are aluminum. They weld to aluminum tanks, radiators, and pipe, not to steel; a steel catch can needs a steel bung. Sold each, so count every port on your drawing before you order. Match the size to the line you'll actually run, not to what's on the shelf: a -16 bung on a -10 line means a reducer adapter and a bulky joint.
Thread a port plug or a scrap adapter into the bung before you weld it. Heat pulls the threads slightly out of round on a bare bung, and a plug in place keeps them true; SpeedFactory's black anodized ORB port plugs are the right size for this and then stay in the box for any port you don't use. Once welded, seal the port with an ORB male adapter only. An AN hose end or an NPT fitting will not seal in an ORB port no matter how much sealant you put on it. And clean the port face after welding; the O-ring seals on that face, and a splatter mark there is a leak.
