SpeedFactory Racing SFWD / AWD Billet Air-to-Air Intercooler 1400HP - Part #SF-06-095
Once a B-series or K-series is making 1400 horsepower on 60 psi, a conventional front mount stops being an intercooler and becomes a restriction and a heat sink with tanks that balloon. The SpeedFactory Racing SFWD / AWD Air-to-Air Intercooler is what SpeedFactory built for its own Outlaw cars and what the top SFWD, XFWD, and AWD racers running 7-second passes at 190 plus mph use, and the current version has billet end tanks.
What It Is and Why It Works
The core is a one-piece 18 by 12 by 6 inch bar and plate. Six inches of core depth in a footprint only 18 inches wide is the whole idea: instead of a wide, thin core that eats both front corners of the car with tanks and piping, this concentrates the fin area in the middle of the front end and leaves the corners open for the radiator, oil coolers, and whatever else a class-legal car has to package. SpeedFactory's own numbers put it in competition above 60 psi of boost.
For Summer 2026 SpeedFactory replaced the hand-formed 5052 end tanks with CFD designed, CNC machined billet 6061-T6 tanks. They're lower profile than the sheet tanks, they have internal charge air guides that spread flow across the full face of the core instead of letting it shortcut through the middle, and billet doesn't balloon or crack at the weld under 60 psi. The tube ends changed too. The 3 inch inlet and 3.5 inch outlet are now thick-wall billet with a machined bead roll profile, so a T-bolt clamp can be tightened hard enough to hold a coupler at drag boost levels without deforming the tube. M8 x 1.25 mounting bungs are welded on and the SF logo is stenciled on the core face.

Fitment

| All | Universal | Honda / Acura | Any | B or K-Series, SFWD / AWD class drag builds |
Universal race intercooler. At 23.5 inches from the right outside face to the left inlet it is narrower than SpeedFactory's front mounts and is meant to leave the front corners open. Custom mounting and piping on every chassis. SpeedFactory also builds a K-series specific version with offset-height tanks as SF-06-099.
What to Know Before You Buy
This is a class racer's intercooler. If you're under 1000 horsepower, SpeedFactory's DBD-1000 or DBD-1200 dual backdoor cores are cheaper, wider, and easier to mount, and the 6 inch depth of this core needs real room in front of the radiator. Measure the 23.5 inch overall width against your core support with the corners you intend to use for coolers, and plan the mounting from the welded bungs. Match the cold side to the 3.5 inch outlet; reducing right off the intercooler throws away flow at the power level this core is built for.
Vanjen quick-release flanges are not a bolt-on request on this unit. Because the tanks are billet, SpeedFactory has to build a custom intercooler to fit them, so that conversation has to happen before the order. If your K-series intake manifold is center feed or side outlet and you want the tanks offset in height to match, SpeedFactory's K-series version SF-06-099 is the one to ask about. And if you see the older hand-formed tank version of this part offered at a discount, that's SpeedFactory clearing the previous design; it's the same core with sheet tanks and rolled tube ends.
