Building a serious drag or race Honda and need a fuel cell that won't leave your motor gasping at the top of a run? This is the one people kept asking SpeedFactory to build. It's a front-mount, left frame-rail fuel cell designed around the stuff that actually matters when you're making big power, keeping fuel to the pump under a hard launch, doing it safely, and making your life easier when you're plumbing the car. If you're ditching the rear tank for a proper race setup, this is how you do it right.

Why This Cell Is Built The Way It Is

Here's what separates a real race fuel cell from a box that holds gas. Under a hard launch, fuel slams to the back of the cell and a lazy pickup starts sucking air, that's cavitation, and it leans your motor out right when it's making the most power, which is exactly when you don't want it. This cell runs an internal pickup tube fed by a -12AN ORB fitting to keep fuel flowing hard and steady even when it's sloshing around, and the -10AN return is aimed right at that pickup inlet so you stay fed even when the level's getting low. On top of that, the fill cap has an integrated high-flow rollover vent valve mounted at the highest point, so you never build vacuum or pressure, and if the car ever ends up shiny-side-down, it won't dump fuel everywhere. That's a safety piece a lot of cells skip, and it matters.

The Details That Make It Easy To Live With

SpeedFactory thought about the stuff that usually bites you later. Those ORB fittings mean if you change your line size or ding a fitting, you just swap the fitting, no cutting the old one off and re-welding the cell like you'd have to with weld-on bungs. Here's the rundown of what you're working with:

  • Anodized 2.5" OD billet screw-on fill cap with integrated high-flow rollover vent valve, anodized to resist corrosion and thread galling
  • Female -12AN ORB feed fitting with internal pickup tube, adaptable to any feed line size you want
  • Female -10AN ORB return fitting aimed at the pickup inlet for solid feed at low fuel levels
  • Straight fill neck for easy filling and checking your level
  • 2.2 gallon capacity, sized to feed thirsty turbo cars running methanol
  • Room to fit a crash bar around the cell
  • Mounting tabs available pre-welded, or included loose so your fabricator can place them exactly
  • TIG welded, with a laser-cut SpeedFactory Racing badge

Important: Check Your Fitment

Read this before you buy, because there's a Civic catch. This cell is a tested direct fit for the DC Integra (1994-2001), the EG Civic (1992-1995), and the EK Civic (1996-1998). But if you've got a 1999-2000 Civic, or any car wearing a 99-00 front end, this standard cell will not bolt in as a direct fit, you need SpeedFactory's 99-00 specific fuel cell for that application, so grab that one instead. It'll also fit most other Honda and Acura models with minor fabrication, and it clears 24.5" racing slicks.
