SpeedFactory Racing 1.3 Bar High Performance Radiator Cap - Type A & Type B

Your factory radiator cap holds 0.9 bar of pressure, which limits how hot your coolant can get before it boils. The SpeedFactory 1.3 bar radiator cap raises your cooling system pressure, which increases the boiling point of your coolant by about 10°F. That extra headroom helps prevent overheating in hot climates, during track days, or when you're sitting in traffic with the A/C on. SpeedFactory makes two versions of this cap with different fitment styles: Type A and Type B. Check the fitment list below to see which one fits your car.

Why Higher Pressure Matters

Your cooling system is pressurized to raise the boiling point of your coolant. The higher the pressure, the higher the boiling point. Water boils at 212°F at sea level, but under 1.3 bar of pressure it won't boil until around 262°F. That extra 10°F over a stock 0.9 bar cap means your engine can run hotter without the coolant boiling and causing cavitation in your water pump or hot spots in your head. If you're racing, running hard on the street, or dealing with hot weather, that extra margin keeps you from overheating.

Two Different Cap Styles

Type A

Type A fits the following chassis and all SpeedFactory filler necks:
