SpeedFactory Racing AWD / FWD Lightweight Rear Staging Brake Kit - Part #SF-08-101
You just added a rear diff, driveshaft, trailing arms, and axles to your EG or DC2 for the HCP AWD conversion and the car gained a couple hundred pounds it didn't have before. Or you're still front wheel drive on the factory trailing arms and want to shed weight off the back of the car where it does the least good. Either way, the SpeedFactory Racing AWD / FWD Lightweight Rear Staging Brake Kit is the rear brake package for a drag car that only needs the rears to hold the car in the beams.
What It Is and Why It Works
A drag car doesn't stop with its rear brakes. On a front-heavy Honda the rears do almost nothing under hard braking, and on a purpose-built drag car they exist to stage the car against the converter or clutch with a hydraulic handbrake and then get out of the way. SpeedFactory built this kit around that job. The slotted steel rotors weigh about half of a stock rotor, the calipers are small, and the whole package drops 16 pounds or more compared with factory rear discs. On an AWD conversion that offsets a chunk of what the rear driveline added, and it moves the weight bias in the direction you want for a hard launch.
The rotor is also a sensor wheel. Eleven windows cut into the rotor let a Hall effect sensor read true rear wheel speed, which is the number your ECU wants for traction control and launch strategies on a car that spins the fronts. The V2 caliper brackets included in this kit have two sensor mounting positions machined in, one above and one below the caliper, so an M DHALL 437 sensor bolts on with no welding or fabrication. The sensor itself is sold separately.
The kit ships complete for one axle: two rotors, two calipers with pads, the V2 billet brackets, stainless lines and fittings, and every bolt and washer you need. It bolts to the factory rear trailing arm on a 1988-2000 Civic or CRX and a 1990-2001 Integra with rear disc brakes, and to every HCP Hub City Performance AWD rear trailing arm kit.

What to Know Before You Buy
Read this part twice. These brakes are for staging with a hydraulic handbrake only. They are not sized to slow the car from the foot pedal, they are not for shutdown at the top end, and they are not for the street. If your car sees any street miles, this is the wrong kit and you should be looking at a full rear brake upgrade instead.
Rear disc only. If your EG or EK came with rear drums, the trailing arm doesn't have the caliper mounting bosses and the kit will not bolt on. A rear disc trailing arm swap or an HCP AWD trailing arm kit fixes that. Plan on a hydraulic handbrake if you don't already have one, and if you're running Strange Engineering double adjustable rear shocks on an AWD car, SpeedFactory's billet rear lower shock mounts rotate the shock so the adjuster knobs clear the axles. If you're adding this kit to a car with the older V1 brackets, you can buy a single V2 bracket instead of the whole kit to get the sensor mount. Inspect the rotors and pads every event. Staging brakes live a hard life in the beams.
