Sparco Side Mount Seat Brackets
Installing a Sparco fixed-back seat in your car? You need side mount brackets to bolt the seat to your seat sliders or base mounts. Sparco side mount brackets bolt to the sides of your fixed-back racing seat and they've got multiple mounting holes so you can adjust the seat height and angle. They're made from aluminum so they're light and they won't add a bunch of weight to your seat setup. If you're putting a Sparco racing seat in your car for track days or a full race build, these brackets are what bolt your seat to your chassis.
Here's What Side Mount Brackets Do
Fixed-back racing seats don't have the factory-style bottom mount points that your stock seat uses. Instead, they mount from the sides. Side mount brackets bolt to the sides of your racing seat, and then the brackets bolt to your seat sliders or directly to base mounts that attach to your chassis. The multiple mounting holes on the brackets let you adjust your seat height, rake angle, and fore-aft position. That's how you dial in your seating position so you can reach the pedals and steering wheel properly. Without side mount brackets, you can't install a fixed-back seat.
Aluminum Construction Keeps Weight Down
The brackets are made from aluminum instead of steel. Aluminum's way lighter than steel, which matters when you're trying to keep your car light for track use. The brackets weigh 2.5 lbs per set. Steel brackets would be 5-7 lbs. The aluminum's strong enough to hold your seat securely - you're not giving up strength by going aluminum. The brackets are powder-coated black for corrosion resistance and they look clean in your interior.
You Need Base Mounts or Sliders Too
These are just the side mount brackets that bolt to your seat. You also need base mounts or seat sliders that bolt to your chassis. Base mounts are fixed - they don't move. Seat sliders let you slide your seat forward and back for adjustment. Most people running fixed-back seats on the street use sliders so they can adjust the seat position. Full race cars usually use fixed base mounts to save weight and eliminate any movement. Figure out if you want sliders or fixed base mounts, then buy those separately.
