Seibon TS-Style Carbon Fiber Hood - 2006-2011 Honda Civic (USDM Coupe & Sedan)
The 8th gen Civic has aged into something people build seriously, and the hood is the biggest chunk of steel bolted to the front of it. Swapping it for carbon takes real weight off the nose and changes the whole character of the front end in one afternoon. This Seibon TS-style hood is hand-laid carbon under a gloss finish, it vents to pull heat out of the engine bay, and it shows up ready to install with no paint needed.
USDM Only, Not For JDM Conversions
Check this before you order, because it's the thing that will cost you. This hood fits USDM 8th gen Civics only, covering the FG1 and FG2 coupe and the FA1 and FA5 sedan. It does not fit JDM-converted 8th gens. The JDM cars use different front-end sheet metal, and a USDM hood won't line up on one.
If your car has been converted to a JDM front end, this isn't your hood, and buying it means paying freight both directions to find that out. Confirm your chassis code first.
Coupe And Sedan Are Different Hoods
These aren't interchangeable, so select the right body style at checkout. The coupe hood fits the FG1 and FG2, and the sedan hood fits the FA1 and FA5. Both cover the full trim range, DX, LX, EX, GX, Hybrid, and Si.
Three Things You Need Before Installation
None of these are optional, and skipping any one of them will cost you the hood.
Hood pins are required. Carbon weighs a fraction of what your steel hood does, and the factory latch alone won't hold it reliably at speed. Pins are how this hood is meant to be secured, so budget for a set.
A heat shield is required. Sustained engine heat damages carbon over time. Get proper shielding in place before you drive the car.
Don't reuse your stock hood springs or dampers. They were sized for a heavy steel hood, and that force pushing against a light carbon panel can keep it from closing correctly or crack it outright. Use hardware appropriate for a carbon hood.
Weight Off The Nose, Heat Out Of The Bay
Two real gains. The steel hood is one of the heaviest bolt-on panels on the car and it sits right over the front wheels, which is the worst place to carry mass on a front-driver. Going carbon takes that weight off exactly where you feel it turning in. And the TS-style venting promotes heat extraction, which matters on any 8th gen with a built or swapped engine making more heat than Honda planned for. Giving hot air a path out keeps the whole bay cooler.
Real Carbon, And You Can Tell
There's a lot of carbon-look junk out there and none of it holds up in person. Seibon has been laying up carbon for over 15 years, and on a panel this size the workmanship is obvious. The weave runs consistent across the entire hood without wandering or breaking pattern, which is genuinely hard to hold at this scale. They run a high carbon-to-resin ratio, so it's stiff and strong rather than mostly resin with a thin skin of weave on top. The gloss finish is show-ready straight out of the box, and every hood is inspected before it ships.
A Note On Surface Blemishes
Straight talk, since this is hand-laid carbon. Occasional small surface blemishes can happen during manufacturing. The hood is show-ready as delivered, but if you decide to paint it, those come out during the normal sanding and primer prep you'd do on any body panel anyway. Running it bare, just know slight variation is part of a hand-made piece.
Keep It Looking New
Treat the finish like paint. Keep it clean and put wax or a ceramic spray on it a couple of times a year. UV is what eventually dulls and yellows a carbon clear coat, and the hood catches every bit of sun the car sees. A little upkeep and it'll look as good in five years as it does the day you install it.

Who Should Run This Hood
This is for the 8th gen owner who's put work into the car and wants the front end to show it. Track build fighting for weight, a swapped Si that needs the heat out, or a clean street car you want people walking around at a meet. Confirm your chassis, sort your pins and heat shield, and give your Civic a front end worth looking at.
