Rywire B-Series OBD1 Budget Tucked Engine Harness - Civic, CRX, Del Sol & Integra

A tucked engine bay is one of those things you can't unsee once you've seen it done right. No wiring draped over the valve cover, no loom sagging across the firewall, just a clean bay where the engine is the only thing you notice. This Rywire budget tucked harness is how you get there on a B-series build without paying Mil-spec money. It's built on the same standards as Rywire's Mil-spec line, the difference being single-color black wire and expandable loom instead of the full-color Mil-spec treatment. Same construction quality, same testing, friendlier price.

Built Like The Mil-Spec Harness, Priced Like A Budget One

Here's what you're actually getting, because "budget" gets used loosely in this hobby. Every connector and every bit of material is brand new, nothing reused or recycled. Each connector is crimped with pneumatic heads, which is what gives you a true OEM-quality crimp every single time instead of the inconsistent hand-crimp results that cause intermittent gremlins years later. Every heavy interference circuit is properly covered and grounded. And each harness is 100% tested pin to pin and resistance checked before it ships, so you're not the one discovering a bad circuit at 1am with the car half apart. Every connector is also tagged with a white ID label, which makes install dramatically less confusing when you're staring at a pile of plugs.

Change Chassis Without Buying A Whole New Harness

This is the smartest thing about how Rywire built these. The back-side sub-harness, the part that runs to your interior and shock tower, is specific to your chassis and separates from the main harness. So if you build an EG now and move that same engine into a DC later, you don't buy a whole new loom. You just get the sub-harness for the new chassis and keep everything else. For anyone who builds more than one car, or who's ever sold a shell and kept the drivetrain, that's real money saved down the road. Pick your chassis when you order and Rywire builds the correct sub-harness for it.

Read This Before You Order: ECU Compatibility

This is the part that catches people, so slow down here. Every Rywire engine harness is built with OBD1 (92-95) computer connectors, and this OBD1 version uses OBD1 distributor, injector, and alternator plugs on the engine side to match. If you're running an OBD2 computer, you can use a computer plug adapter, but there's a hard limit: this harness does not support USDM OBD2 computers. Aftermarket computers using OBD2 plugs and non-US OBD2 computers will work, with the exception of stock H22 and GSR computers. Sort out exactly what ECU you're running before you order, because this is where builds get stuck.

Fits The Golden Era Lineup

What's On The Harness

Every circuit you need for a running B-series, terminated and labeled:

  • Injectors 1-4 and OBD1 distributor plugs
  • Alternator, starter signal, and power distribution cap
  • MAP sensor, TPS, IAT (intake manifold style), and knock sensor
  • Primary 4-wire oxygen sensor
  • Idle control motor and VTEC solenoid
  • Engine coolant temp, H2O sending unit (gauge cluster), and oil pressure sending unit
  • Electronic speed sensor, fan switch, and reverse lights
  • OBD1 plugs A, B, and D
  • Ground and two extra wires

One Thing To Know About The Warranty

Straight talk on this: these harnesses are warrantied and guaranteed to work, but they're non-refundable once installed. That's standard for custom-built wiring, and it's exactly why the ECU compatibility question above matters so much. Get your setup confirmed before you order, not after you've plugged it in.

Who Should Run This Harness

This is for the builder who wants a clean tucked bay and reliable wiring without the Mil-spec price tag. Whether you're finishing an EG hatch, sorting a CRX, or putting a DC together, this gets your B-series wired properly with new connectors, real testing, and labels that make the install make sense. Confirm your ECU, pick your chassis, and go build something clean.
