Radium Engineering Competition Catch Can Extension, 1 Quart Upgrade - Part #20-0149
Radium's Competition Catch Can in its short form holds enough for a street car, but on an engine that's blowing by hard, a 20 minute session can fill it. The 20-0149 extension screws into the short Competition can (20-0072), stretches it to a full quart, and comes with a longer dipstick so the level reading still means something. It's the upgrade for a can that's already on the car and coming back full.
What It Is and Why It Works
The extension is an anodized aluminum section with an O-ring sealed thread on each end. The short can's canister unscrews, the extension threads in between the head and the canister, and the total height goes to 8.9 inches with an internal volume of one quart (0.946 liters). Because it seals on O-rings rather than gaskets, the can stays pressure-sealed and can still be plumbed to a manifold-referenced PCV line. Radium laser etches its logo on both sides so the extended can looks like one piece. The longer aluminum dipstick in the box reaches the bottom of the extended can. This fits the Competition Catch Can only; the standard 7 ounce Radium cans use a different thread and body.

What to Know Before You Buy
Check the clearance before you order. The can gets 8.9 inches tall, which is fine on a bracket in open air and a problem under a hood with a strut brace or an intake pipe running over it. Lube the O-rings before threading the extension on; a dry O-ring rolls in the groove and you'll chase a leak. If the can lives on a track car, this plus Radium's petcock drain kit means draining between sessions without unscrewing anything. And if you're buying a Competition can new, the tall 20-0772 costs about the same as the short one plus this extension; buy the tall one.
