PRODUCT DETAILS

Radium Engineering 10AN ORB Bulkhead with 5/8 Inch Barb to 10AN Male - Part #20-0196

This is the big brother of Radium's surge tank lid fitting: a 10AN ORB bulkhead with a 5/8 inch hose barb on the tank side and a 10AN male flare outside. Radium put it on its high-volume fuel surge tanks starting in 2015, where the pump outlets are large enough that a 6AN fitting would be the restriction, and it's the part to order when you're replacing one, adding a port, or plumbing a big pump through a custom tank with a 7/8-14 ORB hole.

What It Is and Why It Works

The outside is a standard 10AN male flare. The bulkhead threads into a 10AN ORB port (7/8-14 with an SAE chamfer) and seals on a preassembled Viton O-ring, which holds up in gasoline, E85, and methanol. Inside the tank, the 5/8 inch barb takes submersible hose from the pump outlet. Because it's a bulkhead and not a tee, the pump outlet, the lid, and the external line are one sealed path with nothing open to the tank interior. It's aluminum, bright-dipped green to match Radium's surge tank hardware.

Fitment

ApplicationCoverage
Radium high-volume fuel surge tanks, 2015 and laterDirect replacement lid fitting
Custom tanks and hangersAny 10AN ORB (7/8-14) port with an SAE chamfer

Not vehicle-specific. It will not seal in a plain tapped 7/8-14 hole without the chamfer, and it is not an NPT fitting. The 6AN version for standard Radium surge tanks is 20-0170.

What to Know Before You Buy

Use submersible-rated hose on the barb; standard fuel hose is only rated for fuel on the inside, and inside a tank it's soaking in it. Lube the O-ring before you thread it in and snug it by hand plus a quarter turn; ORB seals on the O-ring, and overtightening just squashes it. If you're drilling your own port, it needs the spot face and chamfer, not just a tapped hole, or the O-ring extrudes under pressure. One per port.
