Description
Racebred Components Front Splitter Kit - 2023-2027 Honda Civic Type R (FL5)
A front splitter is one of the most effective aero upgrades you can bolt to an FL5, and this Racebred Components kit is the whole setup: the splitter blade, the chassis-mounted brackets, the support hardware, and everything to mount it. Here's what it actually does. At speed, air piles up against the front of the car and wants to force its way under the nose, and that lifts the front end and makes it go light and vague right when you're leaning on it hardest. The splitter is a flat shelf at the very bottom of the bumper that stops that. It builds high pressure on top and speeds the air up underneath, which generates real front downforce and kills front lift. The front end stays planted and bites harder the faster you go, so you can trust it through fast corners. It was developed with the weekend racer in mind, built around strength, durability, and not costing a fortune.
Chassis-Mounted, Quick-Release Brackets
This is where cheap splitters fail. A splitter under aero load is being pushed up and back hard, and if it's only fastened to the plastic bumper, it flexes, cracks the bumper, or tears clean off. Racebred's brackets mount to the chassis, so that load feeds into the car's structure where it belongs. They have to be chassis-mounted, not bumper-fastened, and that's the whole point. They're also quick-release, so you can pull the splitter in minutes for parking, loading onto a trailer, or clearing a steep driveway, then bolt it back on at the track. The quick-release setup works best paired with Quik Latch bumpers or Dzus fasteners if you're running a removable front end.
9-Ply Resin-Impregnated Birch Blade
The blade is 1/2" thick, 9-ply birch that's resin-impregnated, and there's a reason racers reach for this over flashier materials. It's stiff and strong enough to hold its shape under load without the layers delaminating like cheap plywood, the resin impregnation keeps water and weather from wrecking it, and when you eventually clip a curb or a cone, it's cheap and easy to replace instead of a carbon repair bill. The leading edge is beveled and sealed for clean airflow, with no rubber or plastic trim to disrupt it. It's the honest, functional choice for a car that actually sees track time.
Choose Your Lip and Size
Read this part before you order, because it's how you get the right kit. The splitter is cut to match the front lip or bumper you're running, so pick the profile that matches what's on your car:
- Stock Front Bumper
- Adro
- Aeroflow V2
- Aeroflow V3
- Aimgain
- Anointed Aero Halo
- APR
- EVS Tuning
- Exceed
- Spoon Sports
- Garage Unique
- Mugen
- Sayber
- Varis Bumper
- M&M Honda
Then pick how far it extends: 2", 3", 4", and 5". More overhang makes more downforce, but it also sits lower and sticks out further, so it's more likely to catch driveways, speed bumps, and curbs. A 2" is the street-friendly end; a 5" is for maximum front grip on a dedicated track car. Match the size to how you actually drive it. Don't see your bumper or lip in the dropdown? Choose the CUSTOM option and Racebred's team will work with you to design a splitter for your setup.
Add-Ons for More Downforce
If you want to push the front aero further, two bolt-on upgrades build on this splitter. Splitter diffuser tunnels mount under the blade and grow the low-pressure zone beneath it for more suction. Splitter endplates (offered in CFRP or dry carbon) seal off the outer edges and spin up vortices that clean the airflow, which adds downforce and front grip. Run together, they're good for roughly a 30% increase in front-end downforce and efficiency over the splitter alone.

Install and Honest Notes
This is real race hardware, so install it with your eyes open. It bolts on, but the OEM bumper application needs four holes drilled into the US/CAN-spec bumper support and some slight undertray trimming. Some aftermarket intercoolers may need clearancing to fit. The diffuser tunnels, if you add them, can require trimming the plastic fender liner. Depending on your bumper, splitter size, and material, additional bracing with the support cables or rods may be needed, and that call is left to you. These kits are cut for US/CAN-spec cars; international bumper supports will need modification. Because splitters are made for race use, expect minor cosmetic imperfections, and note that lengths are approximate and vary with your frame, bumper, and lip, so if you need an exact dimension for a class rule, confirm it first.
