PRODUCT DETAILS
PWR Intercooler - 2023+ Honda Civic Type R FL5 / 2024+ Acura Integra Type S DE5
Your stock FL5 or DE5 intercooler heat-soaks after a few pulls and your intake temps climb. When your intake temps go up, your ECU pulls timing and you lose power. The PWR intercooler replaces your factory intercooler with a bar-and-plate core that cools way better. You're getting lower intake temps, less heat-soak, and consistent power even when you're doing back-to-back pulls or running hard at the track. If you're tracking your Type R or Integra Type S, or if you're making more boost than stock, you need a better intercooler.
Here's Why Your Stock Intercooler Isn't Enough
Your factory intercooler's adequate for stock boost levels on the street, but when you're at the track running multiple laps or when you're making more boost than stock, your intercooler heat-soaks. Heat-soak means your intercooler can't cool your charge air fast enough, so your intake temps climb. When your intake temps go up, your ECU pulls timing to prevent knock. You lose power. On your first pull, your car makes full power. By your third or fourth pull, you've lost 20-30 horsepower because your intercooler's saturated with heat. A better intercooler cools your charge air more efficiently, so your intake temps stay low even after multiple hard pulls.
Bar-and-Plate Core Cools Better Than Your Factory Core
The PWR intercooler uses a bar-and-plate core. Bar-and-plate cores have more internal surface area than tube-and-fin cores (like your factory intercooler). More surface area means better heat transfer from your charge air to the core, which means lower intake temps. The PWR core's designed to be efficient without being huge. It's 26% smaller than the most common competitor intercooler, but it cools 33% better. You're getting better cooling in a smaller, lighter package.
11 Pounds vs 23 Pounds
The PWR intercooler weighs 11 pounds. The most common competitor intercooler weighs 23 pounds. You're cutting 12 pounds of weight off the front of your car while getting better cooling. Less weight up front means better weight distribution and better turn-in response. You're not bolting a 25-pound boat anchor to the front of your car just to get better cooling.
Doesn't Block Your Radiator
Most big aftermarket intercoolers block airflow to your radiator, which makes your coolant temps go up. The PWR intercooler's core is sized to cool your charge air efficiently without blocking your radiator. You're getting lower intake temps without sacrificing radiator cooling. Your coolant temps stay consistent even when you're running hard at the track.
Billet Aluminum End Tanks
The PWR intercooler has CNC-machined billet aluminum end tanks. The end tanks are designed to distribute charge air evenly across the entire core. Even airflow distribution means the whole core's working, not just the center section. You're getting maximum cooling efficiency from the entire core. The end tanks are TIG-welded to the core and they're pressure-tested. You're not getting boost leaks or end tanks popping off under high boost.

Note: This intercooler's built to order. Lead time's 5-6 weeks if it's out of stock. Plan ahead if you need it for a specific event. The intercooler's a direct bolt-in replacement for your factory intercooler. You unbolt your factory intercooler, bolt the PWR intercooler in, connect your charge pipes, and you're done. Check your charge pipes and couplers when you're installing the intercooler. If your couplers are old and cracked, replace them. A boost leak from a bad coupler will kill your performance gains. Get your car retuned after you install this intercooler if you're making more boost than stock. The intercooler flows better than your factory intercooler, so your boost response and airflow characteristics will change slightly.
