Progress Technology Rear Tie Bar - 2002-2006 Acura RSX & 2001-2005 Honda Civic

A sway bar can only do its job if the points it mounts to don't move. That's what this tie bar is for. It ties the rear mounting area together so your bar has something solid to work against instead of flexing sheet metal, and it's the same brace that ships with Progress rear sway bar kits 62.0102, 62.0103, and 62.1006. If yours went missing, got damaged, or you're piecing a setup together, this is that part.

Why The Brace Matters More Than It Looks

Worth understanding, because a tie bar seems like an afterthought until you know what it's doing.

Your rear sway bar resists body roll by twisting, and it can only twist if both ends are held firmly. Bolt a much stiffer bar to unbraced chassis structure and part of what you gained disappears into that structure flexing instead. The bar works, just not as well as it should, and you paid for performance you're not fully getting.

The tie bar stiffens that mounting area so the bar's load goes into resisting roll rather than into deflecting the car. The result is that your sway bar actually delivers what it's rated to deliver, with sharper response and more consistent behavior through a corner.

Who Needs One

Two situations.

You're replacing a missing or damaged brace. Progress includes this with their rear bar kits, so if you bought a used bar, inherited a partially assembled setup, or damaged yours, this gets you back to complete.

You're building a setup piece by piece. If you've sourced a bar without its brace, this is the matching component. Running the bar without it means leaving performance on the table.

If you're buying a complete Progress rear sway bar kit, the brace is already included and you don't need this separately.

Straightforward Install

All the necessary hardware is included, and it's a direct fit for cars running the Progress rear sway bar kits it was designed around. No fabrication, no modification, just bolt it into place.

It's finished in gunmetal, which holds up underneath the car where it sees road spray and salt, and it looks considerably better than bare steel if anyone ever looks under there.

Fitment

Replacement brace for Progress rear sway bar kits 62.0102, 62.0103, and 62.1006.

Who Should Grab One

This is for the RSX or 7th gen Civic owner running a Progress rear bar who's missing the brace, or who's assembling a setup from parts. It's the piece that lets the bar do what it's supposed to do rather than fighting chassis flex for part of its effect. Bolt it in and collect the performance you already paid for.
