PRL Motorsports Turbo Inlet Pipe Heat Sink (FL5-INT-TIP-HS) - FL5 Type R & DE5 Integra Type S
The factory turbo inlet pipe wears a plastic resonator cover, and it looks like exactly what it is: a plastic cover. This PRL heat sink replaces it with machined billet aluminum, ribbed to shed a little heat and anodized to look right in a bay you actually open. It's a bolt-on that swaps one visible plastic piece for a proper billet one.
Honest About What This Is
Being straight, because it's the right way to frame it.
This is primarily a dress-up part. It replaces the plastic resonator cover on your turbo inlet pipe with billet aluminum, and the main reason to buy it is that it looks considerably better than the plastic piece it replaces.
The raised ribs do promote some heat dissipation, since aluminum conducts and radiates heat far better than plastic does and the ribs increase surface area. On a hot-running turbo car every bit of heat management helps. But nobody should expect this to transform charge temperatures, and PRL isn't claiming it does.
What you're buying is a genuine functional upgrade in materials with a real, if modest, thermal benefit, on a piece that's visible every time the hood comes up.
Billet Looks Right In A Type R Bay
The FL5 and Integra Type S engine bays are already visually busy, and factory plastic covers are the parts that cheapen the look.
Machined billet aluminum reads as intentional where plastic reads as cost-saving. Black anodized keeps it understated rather than flashy, and the finish holds up in the heat and exposure of an engine bay far better than a painted or coated part would.
If you've been dressing the bay with other billet pieces, this is one of the plastic covers worth addressing.
Bolt-On, No Tune
It replaces the factory resonator cover directly using the included flush-mount stainless bolts. No ECU calibration required, since you're changing a cover rather than anything in the airflow or metering path.
Six FHCS bolts, sit flush for a clean look, and the whole swap takes minutes.
Factory Inlet Pipe Only
Worth confirming before you order.
This is designed to fit the factory turbocharger inlet pipe. If you've already replaced the inlet pipe with an aftermarket unit, this cover won't fit it, since it's shaped to the resonator cover mounting on the stock piece.
If your inlet pipe is stock, you're good. If it's aftermarket, check compatibility with that specific pipe first.
What's In The Kit

Who Should Grab This
This is for the FL5 or Integra Type S owner who's dressing the engine bay and wants the plastic resonator cover gone. Billet where there was plastic, a ribbed surface that sheds a little heat, and anodizing that holds up. It's an easy, inexpensive way to clean up a visible spot under the hood. Confirm your inlet pipe is stock, and swap it in.
