PRL Motorsports Open Ended Lug Nuts - Set of 20
Lug nuts are the detail people skip and then regret, because the wrong ones either look cheap or don't seat properly. These are 60° conical taper in black chrome, built from SAE1010 steel with zinc coated threads rather than the painted threads most competitors use. Sold as a set of 20 with a plastic lined socket so you're not scratching them on install.
Read This First: Not For Factory Honda Wheels
The most important thing on this page, and it's a safety issue rather than a fitment preference.
Honda and Acura use ball seat lug nuts from the factory. These are 60° conical taper, which is the standard for aftermarket wheels.
Those two seat types are not interchangeable. A conical nut in a ball seat wheel contacts on a thin edge rather than across a proper mating surface, which means the clamping load isn't distributed the way it should be. That's how wheels work loose.
So these are for aftermarket wheels with conical seats. If you're running factory Honda wheels, use factory ball seat nuts. Check your wheels before ordering rather than after.
Match Your Thread Pitch
Two versions, and the split catches people out.
M14 x 1.5mm (PRL-LUGNUT-1450) for 2017 and newer Honda Civic Type R and Acura Integra Type S.
M12 x 1.5mm (PRL-LUGNUT-1250) for most other Honda and Acura models.
The Type R and Type S moved to the larger M14 stud, which is a genuine difference rather than a trim detail. Confirm which you have rather than assuming, since the wrong pitch won't thread on.
Zinc Threads, Not Painted
This is the detail that separates them from cheaper lug nuts, and it matters more than it sounds.
A lot of manufacturers paint the inside of the lug nut along with the outside. Paint in a thread is a problem three ways: it's less consistent than plating so your thread engagement varies, it flakes off over repeated removals, and those flakes build up in the threads where they don't belong.
PRL zinc coats the threads instead. The coating stays put through repeated installs, tolerance control is tighter, and there's nothing to flake into your studs.
On a set of wheels you'll remove for tire changes, brake work, and seasonal swaps, that adds up over the life of the car.
Double Plated For The Finish
The black finish is nickel plating underneath black chrome on top.
That two layer approach is why these hold their appearance. Lug nuts live in the worst environment on the car, catching brake dust, road salt, and everything the tire throws at them. A single coat wears through at the hex corners where the socket bites, and then you've got twenty rusty spots on an otherwise clean wheel.
The PRL logo is stamped on three faces, so they read as deliberate rather than generic regardless of how the wheel sits.
