PRL Motorsports RSX Type S PRB Oil Pump Conversion - K24Z Engines
Building a K24Z engine for high RPM or big power? Your factory oil pump's got balance shafts that restrict oil flow and create problems above 8000 RPM. The PRL RSX Type S PRB oil pump conversion kit lets you swap the Acura RSX Type S PRB oil pump into your K24Z engine. The PRB oil pump eliminates the balance shafts and flows way more oil than your factory oil pump. The problem is the PRB oil pump doesn't bolt directly to a K24Z engine. You need a custom windage tray, spacers, and an oil pump mount to make it work. PRL's kit includes everything you need to install the PRB oil pump properly without custom fabrication. If you're building a K24Z for high RPM or boost, you need a better oil pump.
Here's Why Your Factory K24Z Oil Pump Isn't Enough
Your factory K24Z oil pump has balance shafts that are driven by the oil pump. The balance shafts reduce vibration, but they restrict oil flow because the oil pump has to drive the balance shafts and pump oil at the same time. When you're revving your engine to 8000+ RPM or you're making big power with a turbo, your factory oil pump can't keep up. Oil pressure drops and you're starving your bearings of oil. The RSX Type S PRB oil pump doesn't have balance shafts. It just pumps oil. You're getting way more oil flow and consistent oil pressure at high RPM.
PRB Oil Pump Doesn't Bolt Directly to K24Z Engines
The RSX Type S PRB oil pump is designed for K20 engines, not K24Z engines. The mounting points are different and the windage tray doesn't fit. Most people rig up custom spacers and drill holes in the windage tray to make it work. PRL's conversion kit eliminates all the custom fabrication. You're getting a modified windage tray, windage tray spacers, an oil pump mount, and an oil filter block-off plate. Everything's designed to work together so the PRB oil pump bolts in properly.
Modified Windage Tray and Spacers
The kit includes a modified windage tray and two windage tray spacers. The windage tray's been modified to fit the PRB oil pump mounting points. The spacers go between the windage tray and the engine block to position the windage tray correctly. You're not drilling holes or cutting metal. Everything's already done.
Oil Pump Mount and Oil Filter Block-Off Plate
The kit includes a PRL oil pump mount that bolts the PRB oil pump to your K24Z engine block. The mount's CNC-machined aluminum and it positions the oil pump in the correct location. The kit also includes an oil filter block-off plate. The PRB oil pump uses a different oil filter mounting location than the K24Z oil pump, so you need to block off the factory oil filter mounting boss on your engine block.
PRB Oil Pump NOT Included
This kit doesn't include the RSX Type S PRB oil pump. You need to buy the oil pump separately. The PRB oil pump part number is 15100-PRB-A01. Order the oil pump along with this kit so you've got everything you need for the swap.

Note: This kit does not include the RSX Type S PRB oil pump (part number 15100-PRB-A01). You need to buy the oil pump separately. This conversion is for built engines that are revving to 8000+ RPM or making big power with a turbo. If you're running a stock engine with stock RPM limits, you don't need this conversion. Your factory oil pump is adequate for stock use. Installing the PRB oil pump requires removing your oil pan and windage tray. This is an engine-out job or you need to drop your subframe to access everything. If you're not comfortable with this level of work, get a shop to do it.
