PRL Motorsports High Volume Intake V2 - 2018-2022 Honda Accord 1.5T & 2.0T

The factory Accord airbox is built to be quiet and to fit around everything else in the bay, not to flow air. Small filter, cramped box, restrictive MAF housing, and it pulls warm engine bay air on top of it. On a turbocharged engine that's a real restriction, and it's the first thing worth fixing. PRL's High Volume Intake V2 replaces the whole airbox with a 4" cone filter, a billet MAF housing with velocity stack, and a sealed rotomolded box that draws cold air from the front of the car. No tune required.

Why The Factory Intake Restricts

Three separate problems, all of which this addresses.

The filter is small. A flat panel element in a tight box can only flow so much, and when the turbo is pulling hard on boost, it can't keep up. The 4" cone filter has far more surface area, which means more airflow and less restriction.

The MAF housing creates turbulence. The factory housing disrupts airflow right where the engine is measuring and drawing it. PRL's billet housing with a velocity stack smooths that flow, which matters both for power and for keeping the sensor reading accurately.

It pulls hot air. The factory box doesn't seal well, so it draws warm air from around the engine. Hot air is less dense, and less dense air means less oxygen and less power. The sealed PRL box draws cold air from in front of the radiator instead.

Fix all three and the turbo gets more air, cooler air, and cleaner airflow, which shows up as better throttle response, harder spool, and more power up top where the factory intake ran out.

The MAF Housing Is Why There's No Tune

This is what separates a proper intake from one that throws codes.

Your mass airflow sensor measures incoming air, and the ECU meters fuel from that reading. Change the housing around the sensor and you change what it reports, which is why cheap intakes run lean or trip a check engine light.

PRL's billet 2-piece housing is calibrated to maintain proper fuel trims, so the ECU reads airflow correctly and delivers the right fuel. No lean condition, no CEL, no recalibration. The velocity stack built into it, a smooth bell-shaped inlet, guides air in without the sharp edges and sudden diameter changes that create turbulence, so the turbo draws clean laminar flow rather than fighting it.

Sealed Airbox, Cold Air From The Front

The box is HDPE rotomolded, which means a smooth seamless interior for better airflow, and it integrates with the factory air duct that feeds from the front of the car.

The integrated scoop seals against that duct. Sealed, you're pulling cold air from ahead of the radiator. Unsealed, you'd be drawing hot engine bay air and giving back much of the gain. That seal is the difference between an intake that works on a dyno and one that works in traffic on a hot day.

Custom-molded 4-ply silicone couplers with receiving grooves lock everything together without obstructing flow, so nothing rattles or works loose.

Dry Filter, No Oiling

The 4" cone is a dry element, which means no oiling and no risk of over-oiling and fouling your MAF sensor, a problem oiled filters are known for.

When it's dirty, wash it with soap and water, let it dry, and reinstall. It's washable and reusable, so there's no consumable to keep buying.

It Stacks With The Rest

The intake is a real gain on its own and it's usually the first mod people do, since it installs easily and you feel it immediately in throttle response.

It also stacks. Run it with a downpipe, intercooler, front pipe, and a Hondata FlashPro tune and each part lets the others work harder. The biggest gains come from the full bolt-on setup, and the intake is the front end of that path.

Which Engine Do You Have?

This page covers both the 1.5T and 2.0T. Select your engine at checkout, since the intake is specific to each.

Both are the V2 design, PRL's current generation with improved fitment and sealing over the original V1, and both fit the 10-speed automatic and 6-speed manual, plus right-hand drive and international models.

Who Should Grab This

This is for the Accord owner who wants the turbo breathing properly rather than choking on the factory box, and who'd rather not deal with a tune or a check engine light to get there. More airflow, cooler air, a sealed cold air path, and a MAF housing that keeps fueling correct. Confirm your engine, bolt it on, and feel the throttle sharpen up.

Fits: 2018-2022 Honda Accord 1.5T and 2.0T, all trims, automatic and manual, including RHD and international. Version: V2, current generation. Filter: 4" dry cone, washable. MAF housing: billet 2-piece with velocity stack, calibrated to maintain fuel trims. Airbox: HDPE rotomolded, seals to factory cold air duct. Tuning: no ECU calibration
