PRL Motorsports Coolant Overflow Tank - 2022+ Civic & 2023+ Integra

The factory coolant tank is plastic, and plastic in a hot engine bay eventually cracks. When it does, you lose coolant, and losing coolant means an overheating engine somewhere inconvenient. This PRL tank replaces it with 3mm TIG-welded aluminum that holds up to heat and pressure the plastic can't, and it looks considerably better while doing it.

Plastic Tanks Fail, Aluminum Doesn't

The real reason to do this, beyond the look.

Factory coolant tanks are plastic because it's cheap and light. The problem is that plastic gets brittle over years of heat cycling, and eventually it cracks, usually at a seam or a fitting. On a car being driven hard or making more power than stock, that happens sooner.

A cracked coolant tank isn't a slow inconvenience. You lose coolant, the engine overheats, and you're stopped on the side of the road hoping you caught it before any damage was done.

Aluminum doesn't have that failure mode. It handles the heat cycles and the pressure without becoming brittle, so this is a part you fit once rather than a plastic tank waiting to let go.

It Handles Race Coolant Pressure

Worth knowing if your car makes more than stock.

Modified engines run higher coolant pressures than the factory tank was designed around. The plastic tank has a pressure ceiling, and pushing past it accelerates exactly the failure described above.

The 3mm aluminum construction resists the higher pressures associated with race engines, and aluminum's superior thermal conductivity means it transfers heat better than plastic does. On a car you're pushing, that's real durability rather than a cosmetic upgrade.

Same Volume, No Coolant Loss

An important detail that separates this from tanks that shrink capacity for looks.

The internal volume matches the factory tank exactly, which means your cooling system holds the same amount of coolant it always did. Some aftermarket tanks trade capacity for a sleeker shape, and that changes how your system behaves.

This doesn't. Same volume, same coolant capacity, no change to how the system works, just a stronger tank holding it.

The Sight Glass Is Genuinely Useful

Small feature that earns its place.

The factory plastic tank lets you see the coolant level because you can see through it. Swap to aluminum and you'd lose that unless the tank includes a way to check, which is why PRL built in a sight glass.

You keep the ability to check your coolant level at a glance without opening anything, which matters more on a modified car where you're keeping an eye on temperatures anyway.

Bolt-In, Factory Hardware

No modification required. The tank includes an integrated mounting bracket, a billet aluminum cap, and a custom lower fitting that mates to the factory coolant line.

It reuses all your factory hardware and drops into the stock location, so this is a straightforward swap rather than a fabrication project.

Black Or Red

Two anodized finishes, purely a look.

Black is the understated choice, clean against the engine bay without drawing attention.

Red is the statement, an obvious pop of color in a bay that's otherwise mostly black and silver.

Both are anodized over the same 3mm aluminum, so they're identical in function. Anodizing also holds up to heat and won't chip the way a coating can, which suits a part living in the engine bay.

Fitment

2022-2026 Honda Civic 1.5T (excludes CVT)
2022-2026 Honda Civic 2.0L
2023-2026 Acura Integra (excludes CVT)

Fits Si, Sport, and EX trims plus Integra Base and A-Spec, including right-hand drive and international models. Available in black or red.

Who Should Grab This

This is for the owner who'd rather replace the plastic tank before it cracks than after, and for anyone dressing an engine bay who wants a real aluminum piece instead of the factory plastic. Stronger, better looking, same coolant capacity, and a sight glass so you can still check your level. Pick your finish and swap it in.

Fits: 2022-2026 Honda Civic 1.5T (excl. CVT) and 2.0L, 2023-2026 Acura Integra (excl. CVT), including RHD and international. Construction: 3mm TIG-welded aluminum, anodized. Finishes: black or red. Includes: billet aluminum cap, sight glass, integrated mounting bracket, and custom lower fitting. Volume: matches factory, no coolant loss. Install: bolt-in, reuses factory hardware.
