PRL Motorsports Cobra Cold Air Intake - 2022-2026 Honda Civic Si (1.5T)
If you've been chasing that turbo soundtrack, this is the intake that delivers it. Let's talk about the real reason people buy this one. Yes, the Cobra makes power, and we'll get to that. But what sets it apart from a normal intake, and from PRL's own High Volume Intake, is the sound. This is the intake for the Si owner who wants to actually hear their turbo work. The spool is louder, and that satisfying blow-off whoosh when you lift off the throttle is dramatically louder than stock and noticeably louder than the HVI. It turns a quiet little 1.5T into something that talks back every time you get on it and off it.
The Sound Is The Whole Point
Honda tuned the factory intake to be quiet, and even a lot of aftermarket intakes stay pretty tame. The Cobra goes the other direction on purpose. As the turbo spools up, you hear it building, a real induction and turbo note instead of a muffled hum. Then when you lift off the throttle, the recirculating valve lets out a loud, crisp whoosh that's the signature of this intake. It's the sound that makes a turbo car fun, and the Cobra brings way more of it than stock or the High Volume Intake do. If two people are cross-shopping PRL's intakes, this is the one that wins on character and drama.
It Makes Real Power Too, No Tune Needed
The sound is the headline, but the Cobra isn't all show. PRL dyno-tested it on a completely stock Si with no tune and saw up to 16 horsepower and 9 lb-ft of torque, with the gains carried across much of the rev range rather than just spiking at one peak. And you get all of that without an ECU calibration, because the standard bore MAF housing holds your factory fuel trims. You bolt it on and drive it, and the car is both louder and stronger than it was that morning.
A True Cold Air Design
This is a real cold air intake, not just a filter sitting in the hot engine bay. The Cobra pulls its air from the lower driver-side fender well, well outside the engine bay, so the filter breathes cooler, denser outside air instead of soaking up heat off the motor. Cooler intake temps mean a denser charge and more consistent power, especially when you're driving hard or sitting in traffic on a hot day. It's the setup that keeps the car making its numbers instead of heat-soaking and going flat.
Built From The Right Stuff
PRL didn't cut corners on the build. The MAF housing is CNC-machined from billet 6061 aluminum with a black anodized finish, sized to keep your fuel trims OE-like so there's no drivability weirdness. The lower intake tube is HDPE rotomolded, so it's light, tough, and thermally efficient, keeping heat out of your intake charge. Stepped silicone couplers smooth the transitions between components so the air keeps moving cleanly, and the brackets and hardware are 304 stainless so nothing rusts out on you. It also integrates a resonator delete, and includes the plug for the factory cold-side resonator box, which is part of where that extra sound comes from.

Fitment
This intake fits the 2022-2026 Honda Civic Si 1.5T, and may fit additional 1.5T Civic variants. One important note for CVT cars: this system does physically fit 2022-2025 Civics equipped with the CVT, but PRL does not recommend it due to tight clearances near the transmission cooler and front sensor. If you've got a CVT car and choose to install it anyway, that's at your own risk. On the manual Si it's the intended fit and the one to get.
Who This Is For
This is for the Si owner who wants their car to sound as fun as it is to drive. You want the turbo spool up front and center, you want that loud blow-off whoosh every time you shift, and you'll happily take the 16 horsepower and no-tune convenience that come with it. If you'd rather have the quietest, most refined breathing upgrade, PRL's High Volume Intake is your pick. But if you want drama and sound along with real gains, the Cobra is the one.
