PRL Motorsports Cobra Cold Air Intake - 2016-2021 Honda Civic 1.5T & Si
This is the intake people buy when they want to hear the turbo. The Cobra moves the filter into open air with a 4" path into a CNC machined billet MAF housing, and what you get alongside the airflow is induction noise, spool, and the whoosh on lift that the factory airbox buries completely. Two MAF housing options, one that needs no tune and one that needs a specific calibration.
Two Questions, Four Options
Work through it in this order and the choice is simple.
First: which car? Non-Si 1.5T or Si. That's fixed by what you drive.
Second: Standard Bore or Big Bore? That's your choice, and it comes down to whether you're tuning.

Standard Bore: No Tune At All
The Standard Bore housing is engineered to deliver factory-spec fuel trims, within 4% of stock short and long term fuel trims, without any tuning whatsoever.
That's the achievement. Most intakes skew the MAF reading, which means your ECU meters fuel from bad data and you get codes or poor running. PRL's CNC machined billet housing presents air to the factory sensor in a way it reads correctly at higher flow.
On an Si, that's 15 horsepower and 12 lb-ft over stock with no tune, no codes, and nothing to recalibrate. If your car is otherwise stock or you'd rather not tune, this is the version.
Big Bore: More Air, Needs A Calibration
The Big Bore housing flows 50% more volume than the Standard Bore, which reduces pumping loss and gives the turbo a genuinely unrestricted path.
A Big Bore specific calibration is required. Not optional. The housing flows too differently for the factory MAF scaling to work.
The good news is that basemaps exist for both Hondata and KTuner, so this isn't custom tuning work. Load the Big Bore basemap and you're running correctly. With that calibration on an Si, PRL measures 20 horsepower and 15 lb-ft over stock.
Running Two Step Performance or Phearable calibrations? Select the Race MAF option, which is compatible with both.
The Sound Is Half The Reason
Being straight about why people actually buy this one.
The factory airbox on a 10th gen is sealed and quiet by design. Honda spent effort making a turbocharged engine sound like a naturally aspirated one, which is fine for a rental car and disappointing on an Si.
The Cobra puts the filter in open air, and what comes with that is everything the airbox was hiding. Induction noise under load, audible spool, and the distinct whoosh when you lift off throttle. It's the closest thing to a blow-off sound you'll get on a car with a factory recirculating valve.
If that's what you're after, this is the intake. If you'd rather keep things quiet, a sealed airbox design is the better fit.
Two Things That Exclude Your Car
Check both before ordering.
Canadian models need a USDM windshield washer reservoir conversion, which we don't stock. The Canadian reservoir sits where the intake wants to go, so that swap has to happen first and you'll need to source it separately.
Factory CVT cooler cars are not compatible. That's primarily Spain, Turkey, and other international markets. If your car has one, this doesn't fit.
Filter Service
The included PRL high flow oiled cone filter is washable and reusable, so there's no consumable to keep buying.
When it's time to service it, a replacement filter is available if yours has seen enough miles, and cleaning and re-oiling keeps the original going for years.
