PRODUCT DETAILS

PRL Motorsports Stainless Braided Clutch Line (HC10-CL) - Civic, Accord & Integra 1.5T

Factory clutch lines are rubber, and rubber expands. Every time you press the pedal, some of that hydraulic pressure goes into swelling the hose instead of moving the slave cylinder. What you feel is a pedal that's vague and a clutch that engages somewhere different depending on how quickly you press it. This PTFE line inside a stainless braid doesn't expand, so your input goes where you sent it.

Why Rubber Lines Go Soft

Worth understanding, because this is a problem people adapt to without noticing.

A hydraulic clutch works by moving fluid from the master cylinder to the slave. Fluid doesn't compress, so in theory every bit of pedal movement translates directly into clutch movement.

In practice, a rubber line expands under pressure. That expansion absorbs part of your input, which means the pedal travels further before anything happens and the engagement point becomes less predictable. It gets worse with age, since rubber softens over years of heat cycles and brake fluid exposure.

On a car that's been driven for a decade, the difference between the original pedal feel and what you have now is larger than you'd expect. Most people don't notice it happening.

What Changes When You Fit One

PTFE doesn't expand meaningfully under pressure, and the stainless braid around it stops the line flexing at all.

The result is a pedal that feels firm and consistent through its travel, with an engagement point that's the same every time rather than shifting depending on how fast you press. That matters most in the situations where clutch control actually counts: heel-toe downshifts, launching cleanly, and modulating in traffic without lurching.

It's not a power modification and nobody should pretend otherwise. It's the kind of change that makes the car feel better to drive every single time you use it.

Drop-In Replacement

Built from -3AN stainless braided PTFE line with Honda-specific hose ends, which means it mounts exactly where the factory line came off.

No adapters, no fabrication, and no modifying the line to fit. That's the practical advantage over a universal braided line, which usually involves compromising somewhere in the routing or the fittings.

Bleed It Properly, With Fresh Fluid

The one thing that determines whether this feels like an improvement.

Opening the hydraulic system means air gets in, and air is compressible in a way fluid isn't. A poorly bled clutch feels spongy regardless of what line you fitted, which leads people to conclude the upgrade didn't work.

Take your time and get all the air out. And since the system is open anyway, put fresh fluid in rather than reusing what's there. Brake fluid absorbs moisture over time, and moisture costs you pedal feel in exactly the same way a soft line does. Goodridge DOT 4 is a sensible choice and it's a small addition to an order you're already placing.

Who Should Grab One

This is for anyone whose clutch pedal has gone vague, and for the owner who wants consistent engagement rather than a bite point that moves around. It's inexpensive, it's a direct replacement, and it's one of the few modifications you notice on every drive rather than only when you're pushing. Fit it, bleed it properly, and enjoy a pedal that does what you tell it.

Fits: 2016-2026 Honda Civic 1.5T, 2018-2026 Honda Accord 1.5T, 2023-2026 Acura Integra, all manual transmission variants. Part number: HC10-CL. Construction: -3AN stainless steel braided PTFE line with Honda-specific hose ends. Install: drop-in replacement for the factory rubber line. Recommended: fresh DOT 4 brake fluid when bleeding.
