PRL Motorsports 4-Piston Brake Caliper Kit - Civic Si, Accord & Integra
The factory single-piston floating caliper on these cars is adequate until it isn't. Once heat builds or you're leaning on the pedal repeatedly, it fades and the pedal goes long. This is PRL's fixed four-piston replacement, forged 6061-T6 with 44mm and 41mm pistons, working with your OEM 312mm rotor and including the stainless lines the system needs.
Check Your Wheel Clearance First
The most important thing on this page, and PRL gave you the tool to do it properly.
This caliper is considerably larger than the factory one. It adds roughly 25mm of outward width and 30mm of height at both top and bottom, which is 60mm of additional overall height.
That extra size is where the thermal mass and improved pad contact come from, and it's also why it won't clear every wheel.
PRL provides a printable PDF fitment template so you can verify before ordering. Print it at 1:1 scale, check it against a tape measure to confirm the scaling came out right, and test it against your wheels.
Two minutes with a printer beats discovering a clearance problem with the old calipers already off.
Fixed Caliper Versus Floating
Worth understanding, because it's the fundamental difference here.
A floating caliper has pistons on one side only. Pressing the pedal pushes the inner pad against the rotor, and the caliper body slides on pins to pull the outer pad in. It works, and it's cheap to manufacture, which is why Honda uses it.
The problems show up under load. The slide pins introduce compliance, the two pads don't apply pressure evenly, and everything flexes more as the system heats up. What you feel is a pedal that gets longer and less confident as a session goes on.
A fixed caliper has pistons on both sides and doesn't move. Both pads get clamped directly with equal pressure, there are no slide pins to bind or flex, and the rigid two-piece forged body resists deflection under hard braking.
The result is a firmer pedal that stays firm, more consistent bite, and considerably better behavior once things are hot.
Standard Parts, Deliberately
This is the design decision worth appreciating, and it saves you money every time you service the brakes.
PRL built this around the 312 x 25mm rotor already used on the 10th and 11th gen Civic Si, rather than a proprietary size. That means replacement rotors are widely available and inexpensive, and you're not waiting on a specialty part when you need one.
The pad shape is FMSI D1001, the same profile used on the FK8 Civic Type R, the Brembo F50, and the Subaru STI. That's one of the most widely supported performance pad shapes available, so you can run whatever compound suits your use without hunting for something obscure.
Plenty of big brake kits lock you into parts only one company sells. This deliberately doesn't.
How It's Built
Calipers are forged 6061-T6 aluminum in a two-piece body, hard anodized for thermal resistance and corrosion protection.
Pistons are 44mm primary and 41mm secondary, machined from 6061-T6 billet and vented with Type 3 hard anodizing. The staggered sizing is intentional, it evens out pad pressure across the contact patch as the pad wears.
Brackets are CNC machined from 4140 billet steel with an electrocoated finish, which is where the strength needs to be since that's what ties the caliper to the knuckle.
Roughly 8.8 lbs per side including bracket and hardware.
The Lines Aren't Optional
Stainless braided brake lines are included and they're required rather than an upgrade.
Rubber lines expand under pressure, which means part of your pedal effort goes into swelling a hose instead of clamping the pads. Fitting four-piston calipers behind expanding lines would waste much of what you just bought.
Since the lines are in the box, that's handled. Just plan for a proper bleed afterward, since air in the system undoes the firm pedal you're paying for.
Rotors And Pads Sold Separately
Being clear so nothing surprises you.
The kit includes calipers, brackets, lines, and hardware. It does not include rotors or pads.
If you're on the factory 312mm rotors and they're in good shape, they carry over. If you're going outside OEM spec on rotors or pads, check PRL's install guide to verify compatibility before ordering.
Blue Or Gray
Two anodized finishes, and it's purely a look.
Blue (1167-1-BLU) is the statement choice, visible through the wheel and obvious that something's been done.
Gray (1167-1-GRY) is the subtler option, closer to a factory appearance while still reading as a proper caliper up close.
Both are hard anodized, so both resist heat and corrosion identically. Pick whichever suits the car.

Who Should Run This
This is for the owner who's found the factory brakes going soft on a back road or a track day and wants a pedal that holds up. Fixed four-piston construction, standard rotor and pad sizes so servicing stays cheap, and the lines included because the system needs them. Print the template, check your wheels, and get brakes that match what the rest of the car can do.
