If the factory front pads on your Civic Type R are glazed or down to the wear sensors, you're looking at a daily pad job on Brembo four-piston calipers. PowerStop 17-1001B is the Z17 Evolution Plus ceramic front set for the 2017-2021 FK8 Type R, the 2023-2024 FL5 Type R, and the 2024 Integra Type S. Front axle only. The pad shape is FMSI D1001B. Hardware is in the box. This isn't the Civic Si pad and it isn't a non-Si Civic pad.

What It Is and Why It Works

PowerStop builds Z17 as an OE-plus ceramic replacement. The official Z17 page calls out a low-dust ceramic formula, chamfered and slotted faces, dual-layer rubberized shims, a thermally scorched surface for faster break-in, and stainless-steel hardware in the box. Positive-mold construction is the factory-style process PowerStop uses to keep wear even.

This is a pad set, not a rotor kit. Hardware is included. Z17 is the daily ceramic line, not Z23 Sport or Z26 Track. Civic Si uses 17-1697. 11th-gen Civic non-Si uses 17-2185. If the car is a Type R or Type S, those SKUs won't service the Brembo front calipers.

What to Know Before You Buy

Look at the caliper before you order. Type R and Type S use the big Brembo front hardware. A 17-2185 or 17-1697 set won't service those cars. If the car is an FK8, FL5, or DE5, this is the Z17 front set.

Z17 is a daily ceramic pad. It isn't a track pad. Bed the pads in. Replace the hardware that comes in the box. If the rotors are grooved or below spec, replace those too. This SKU is pads only.
