PRODUCT DETAILS
Honda Civic Spark Plug Si NGK Laser Iridium
Your 2017-2020 Civic Si uses Laser Iridium spark plugs in the 1.5T. When those factory plugs are worn or fouled, this is the honda civic spark plug that goes back in the hole. Honda stamped ILZKAR8J8SY. NGK 95660 is that plug.
NGK 95660 is one Laser Iridium plug. Heat range 8. Factory gap 0.030 in (0.75 mm), per NGK. The Si uses four of these. This SKU is one.
What It Is and Why It Works
NGK builds Laser Iridium as the long-life OE plug Honda put in the Si, not a colder racing plug. Heat range 8 is what the car shipped with. You get a 0.6 mm iridium center and a platinum ground so the gap stays put for a long service interval. You give up a standard nickel plug, and you give up a colder heat range. If you want 80,000 to 100,000 miles and a fine-wire spark in a stock or mildly built L15B7, this is the trade we like. If you have been shopping a colder heat range for E85 or high boost, this is still heat range 8.
Laser Iridium is the OE iridium series. NGK rates that series 80,000 to 100,000 miles. Trivalent plating on the shell, per NGK, so you do not use anti-seize. This is not Iridium IX. IX is a different line with a shorter interval.

| 2017-2020 | Honda | Civic | Si sedan and coupe | L15B7 1.5T |
| 2017-2020 | Honda | CR-V | EX, EX-L, Touring, and 2020 LX | 1.5T |
Civic-first, Si first. There is no 2021 Civic Si in the US. A 2022 Civic Si is a later 1.5T sedan, not this generation. A non-Si 10th-gen 1.5T uses a different Laser Iridium with a different gap. A 2017-2019 CR-V LX is the 2.4. The 2020 LX is 1.5T and is on the table. Pull the old plug and read the porcelain: ILZKAR8J8SY is this number.
What to Know Before You Buy
NGK ships Laser Iridium pre-gapped at 0.030 in. Check it anyway. If you have to move the gap, bend the ground strap only. Do not pry on the 0.6 mm iridium center. Torque is 10.8 to 14.5 lb-ft on an aluminum head, per NGK. These threads are 12 mm.
This SKU is one plug. Add three more if you are doing the whole engine. Pull the coil, blow the well out, then break the plug loose. Trivalent plating is the anti-seize. Do not paint the threads with copper grease. If you are chasing a misfire, look at the coil boot while you are in there.
Heat range 8 is the OE street plug. If this is a daily Si or a 1.5T CR-V at 80,000 miles, Laser Iridium is the right call. If you are on E85, a big turbo, and a custom tune, start from this heat range and work the gap with the tuner.
