Mishimoto No-Spill Coolant Funnel Kit
If you've done a coolant flush, a radiator swap, a thermostat job, or a head gasket on any K-swap, B-swap, H-swap, or stock Honda or Acura, you already know the bleed dance. Refill the system, run the engine, watch the temp gauge climb, listen for that gurgle of trapped air working its way out, top it off, run it again, and repeat until it's finally purged. This Mishimoto funnel kit is what makes that bleed step actually work. The adapters thread into your radiator neck or reservoir cap, the funnel sits up high above the fill point, and trapped air rises up through the coolant and out into the funnel as the system warms and circulates. No more cooking your engine because you missed an air pocket sitting up in the head.
What This Actually Does
Here's the deal: it's a funnel with 9 different adapters that thread or seat into the various coolant fill points across most Honda and Acura platforms, plus plenty of other cars and light trucks. You pick the adapter that matches your radiator neck or reservoir cap, install it, and drop the funnel in. The seal between the adapter and the fill point keeps coolant from leaking out around the funnel, and the height of the funnel above the fill point gives the air a path to rise up and escape as the system circulates. That height advantage is the entire reason a funnel like this burps a cooling system properly when just topping off the radiator won't.
One Thing To Be Clear On
This isn't an automatic no-spill funnel, and we'd rather you know that up front. There's no internal float valve that senses a full system and shuts itself off. The fluid stopper in the kit is a manual plug you drop into the funnel base when you want to stop flow, usually when you're moving the funnel between fill points and don't want to spill what's left in it. You're still watching your level and stopping when the system's full. What it does do, and does well, is keep the fill clean, stop coolant from spilling around your radiator neck, and create the air-bleed path that actually gets the trapped air out of a Honda cooling system.
The Elbows And Extension Earn Their Keep In Tight Bays
The two 45-degree elbows and the 5-inch straight extension are the pieces you'll be glad are in here. The K20C2 in an 11th gen Civic Si and the K20C1 in the FK8 and FL5 Type R both have radiator necks tucked into spots where a straight vertical funnel just won't fit. The elbows let you angle around the fan shroud or the strut tower, and the extension lifts the funnel up over all the engine-bay clutter so it sits high enough to actually do its job. On older chassis like an EG or EK Civic, a DC Integra, or a BB Prelude, you can usually thread the funnel right into the radiator neck without any extensions at all.
What's In The Kit
| Qty | Item | Use |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Clear funnel | Main funnel body, clear so you can watch the fluid flow and level |
| 1 | Funnel cap | Closes the top between uses to keep dust and debris out |
| 4 | Reservoir cap adapters | Thread onto the various plastic coolant reservoir caps used across Honda/Acura, Toyota, GM, Ford, and others |
| 5 | Radiator fill neck adapters | Seat into the various radiator fill neck designs, different diameters and tab styles for different OE radiators |
| 2 | 45-degree elbows | Angle the funnel away from engine bay obstructions when vertical clearance is tight |
| 1 | 5-inch straight extension | Adds height between the adapter and funnel for tight or hard-to-reach fill points |
| 1 | Fluid stopper | Manual plug to stop flow when moving the funnel between fill points |
All 15 components nest inside the main funnel for storage, so the whole kit takes up less shelf space than a single oil filter box.
How To Bleed A Honda Cooling System With It
Thread the right adapter into your radiator neck and drop the funnel in. Fill with coolant until the funnel's about a third to half full, then start the engine with your heater cranked to full hot. Watch for air bubbles rising up into the funnel as the engine warms, and top it off as the level drops. Once your thermostat opens (you'll feel the upper radiator hose suddenly get hot), the system's circulating fully and the bubbles start to slow down. Keep it running until they stop completely, usually 10 to 15 minutes, then drop the level in the funnel to your system's fill line, insert the fluid stopper, pull the funnel and adapter, and put your radiator cap back on. That's the whole job.
Why K-Series And B-Swaps Especially Need This
K-series engines and a lot of B-series swaps benefit from this more than most. The thermostat housing on the K20A and K24A sits down on the lower driver's side of the block, and these cooling systems have several high points that love to trap air after a refill. Skip a proper bleed and the engine will overheat within the first few drives, and now you're risking real damage over an air pocket. This funnel turns that into a 15-minute driveway job instead of a three-day cycle of refilling and re-refilling and hoping you got it.
What To Know Before You Buy
Use this mainly for cooling system work. The kit's rated for all your automotive fluids, coolant, oil, ATF, brake, and power steering, but the whole design is built around coolant fill and bleed work where the extra funnel height actually does something for you. For a plain oil fill or a quick top-off, a regular funnel's fine and you don't need this. The body's durable plastic that shrugs off coolant, oil, and the rest, and Mishimoto backs it with a real lifetime warranty. It's the kind of cheap tool that pays for itself the very first time it saves you from chasing an air pocket straight into a cooked head gasket.

Note: Mishimoto no-spill coolant funnel kit, a 15-piece set built to make bleeding a cooling system a clean, one-person job. Includes a clear funnel and cap, 9 adapters (4 reservoir cap adapters and 5 radiator fill neck adapters) that fit most Honda and Acura platforms plus many other cars and light trucks, two 45-degree elbows and a 5-inch extension for tight engine bays, and a manual fluid stopper. The funnel sits above the fill point so trapped air rises out of the system as it warms and circulates, which is the key to properly burping K-series, B-series, and other Honda cooling systems that trap air after a refill. Note that this is not an automatic shutoff funnel; the fluid stopper is a manual plug, so watch your level while filling. Rated for all automotive fluids but designed primarily for coolant fill and bleed work. All components nest inside the funnel for storage, and the kit is backed by Mishimoto's lifetime warranty. One kit per order.
