Mishimoto Silicone Radiator Hose Kit - FL5 Civic Type R & DE5 Integra Type S
The factory rubber radiator hoses on the FL5 and DE5 are a weak point waiting to happen, rubber dries out, cracks, and balloons under pressure over time, and on a car making 315hp and real heat, that's not where you want a failure. Why Silicone Beats Rubber
Worth understanding, because it's the reason to replace a hose that isn't obviously failed yet.
Factory rubber coolant hoses degrade from the inside out. Heat cycles dry out the rubber, which cracks and gets brittle, and pressure causes them to balloon and weaken over time. On an older or hard-driven car, a rubber hose that looks fine can let go under the heat and pressure of a track day or a hot summer drive, and a burst coolant hose means an overheated engine stranded wherever it happened.
Silicone doesn't have that failure mode. It handles heat and pressure far better, it doesn't dry out or crack, and it doesn't balloon, so the connection stays tight and reliable across the temperature range.
