Mishimoto Ignition Coils - Honda & Acura K-Series, 1.5T & J-Series V6

Spark is one of the four things an engine needs to run right, and a worn ignition coil puts out a weak one, which shows up as misfires under load, a rough idle, hard starts, and lost power. These Mishimoto coils restore a strong, consistent spark, built to meet or exceed OEM Honda spec, with a heat-resistant build and pre-greased boots for a reliable connection. They're offered across the modern Honda and Acura engine families, so pick the coil for your engine and the quantity you need.

Find Your Engine

These cover five engine families. Select the version that matches your engine, and the quantity, a single coil to replace one failed unit, or a full set to refresh the whole ignition at once.

Go by your engine to confirm. The four-cylinders take four coils (one per cylinder); the V6s take six. Buy a single to fix one bad coil, or the full set if you're refreshing a high-mileage ignition, more on that below.

What A Weak Coil Does

A coil steps your 12 volts up to the tens of thousands of volts needed to fire the plug. As it ages, it can't produce that voltage consistently, and on a coil-on-plug setup one weak coil means one cylinder running badly.

You'll feel it as misfires (often worse under load, where the coil has to fire hardest), a rough or stumbling idle, hard starts, and poor fuel economy. Repeated misfires can also dump raw fuel into the exhaust and damage the catalytic converter, so a cheap coil problem left alone becomes an expensive one. If you've got a misfire code pointing at a cylinder, that cylinder's coil is the prime suspect.

Single Or Full Set?

The quantity choice comes down to your situation.

A single coil fixes an immediate problem, a code points at one cylinder, you replace that coil. If your car's otherwise healthy and one coil failed, that's a valid fix.

A full set (4 for the four-cylinders, 6 for the V6s) makes sense on a higher-mileage engine. The coils are all the same age and have seen the same heat, so when one fails, the others are candidates to follow. Replacing them all at once restores consistent ignition across every cylinder and saves you chasing them one at a time. A lot of people do the full set on an engine with real miles for exactly that reason.

Get The Basics Right First

There's a smart order to building a car, and ignition is part of the foundation. An engine needs fuel, air, compression, and spark to run properly, so before you chase horsepower, it's worth getting all of those healthy, call it Stage 0. There's no point adding power mods to an engine misfiring on a weak coil; you fix the ignition first, then build on a solid base. It's also just good maintenance on any higher-mileage car.

Do It With Fresh Plugs

Coils and plugs are the two halves of your ignition and they wear on similar timelines, so they're best done together. Installed with a fresh set of plugs, these coils give you a fully refreshed ignition, easier starts, a smoother idle, and the performance a weak setup was costing you. If you're in there doing coils, doing the plugs at the same time is the sensible move.

Built To Last

These are made to meet or exceed OEM Honda performance spec, with a few details that matter for longevity. The outer shell is phenolic resin, which holds up in the high-heat engine-bay environment where a cheap coil fails early. The lower rubber boot seals the plug well against moisture, oil, and debris, keeping the connection clean and preventing plug contamination. And the boots come pre-lubricated with dielectric grease, which resists corrosion and ensures a solid connection between the coil and plug. They're a direct fit for the factory coils, backed by the Mishimoto lifetime warranty.

Fitment

Honda and Acura K20A/K20Z/K24A, K24Z, L15B (1.5T), and J-series V6 (2000-2007 and 2008-2017) engines, covering:

K-series four-cylinder: Acura RSX, TSX, ILX; Honda Civic Si, Accord (K24), CR-V, Element
1.5T: Honda Civic (16-21), Civic Si (17-20), Accord 1.5T
J-series V6: Acura CL, TL, RL; Honda Accord V6, Odyssey

See the engine table above for year-specific applications and quantities. Select your engine family and quantity (single, or set of 4 for four-cylinders / 6 for V6s).

If your Honda or Acura is misfiring, idling rough, or hard to start, a worn coil is one of the common, fixable causes, and these are the fix. Match the coil to your engine, buy a single for a one-cylinder failure or the full set to refresh a high-mileage ignition, do it with fresh plugs, and get the car running clean again.
