Mishimoto Performance Air Intake - 2016-2021 Civic 1.5T & 2017-2020 Civic Si
Honda built the 10th-gen Civic's turbo engines to be quiet, which means the factory airbox leaves airflow and sound on the table. This Mishimoto intake opens both up: real gains, a genuinely aggressive tone, and a clean no-tune install. It fits the 1.5T Civic and the Civic Si, and the silicone intake hose comes in black, blue, or red to match your bay. Pick the version for your engine and the color you want.
Pick Your Engine: 1.5T Or Si
These are two versions of the intake for two versions of the engine. Match yours before ordering.
1.5T (2016-2021 Civic) makes the bigger gains, up to 9 whp and 10 wtq on the stock tune, since the standard turbo Civic's factory intake is the more restrictive of the two.
Civic Si (2017-2020) makes up to 4 whp and 4 wtq on the stock tune. The Si's factory setup is already a bit freer-flowing than the base 1.5T's, so there's less restriction to clear, but you still get the gain, the response, and the sound.
Both run the L15B7, but the intakes are specific to each car's setup, so go by your model. And both hold safe air-fuel ratios on the stock tune, no remap required and no check engine light, because the MAF housing is engineered to keep the fuel trims where the ECU expects them.
A Silicone Intake Arm, Not Aluminum
This is a design choice worth understanding, because it's a little unusual and it's deliberate.
Most intakes use an aluminum pipe. Mishimoto went with a steel-wire-reinforced silicone intake arm instead, and the reason is heat. Aluminum conducts engine-bay heat straight into the air passing through it; silicone doesn't, so the intake air stays cooler on its way to the turbo. The steel wire reinforcement keeps the silicone from collapsing or ballooning under boost, so it holds its shape and flow. You get the airflow improvement without the heat-soak an aluminum pipe can introduce.
Sealed Airbox, And It Won't Hydrolock
The airbox does more than look good.
The black powder-coated steel airbox encloses the Mishimoto high-flow filter and shields it from engine-bay heat, feeding the turbo cooler, denser air instead of the hot air an open filter would pull. It uses the factory air diverter under the hood, the same one that fed the stock airbox, so the filter still gets cool air routed from the front of the car.
There's a real safety benefit to the design too: because the airbox sits high, up near the hood, it eliminates the hydrolock risk that a low-mounted filter carries. If you ever hit standing water, a filter down low can suck water into the engine and destroy it; this placement keeps the filter well up out of that danger.
Venturi MAF Housing
The MAF housing has a venturi-style inlet rather than a conventional straight one, which smooths the airflow through the sensor. That matters two ways: it improves flow, and it keeps the MAF reading clean and accurate, which is part of what lets the intake run safely on the stock tune without throwing codes. It's the detail that separates an intake that just works from one that gives you drivability headaches.
Black, Blue, Or Red
The silicone intake hose comes in black, blue, or red. Black keeps it subtle, blue and red make a statement in the bay. All three are identical in performance, so it's purely how you want it to look. Pick the color for your build when you select your engine version.
CARB-Legal, Easy Install
Both versions are CARB compliant (EO# D-759-25), so they're 50-state legal and pass a visual emissions inspection, which a lot of intakes won't, making this a safe choice in California and other emissions-checked states. It's a complete bolt-on that installs with basic hand tools and no tune. Designed in Delaware, with a USA-made filter.
Filter Maintenance
It uses a Mishimoto oiled filter, which flows well and is reusable. Clean and re-oil it every 10,000 to 15,000 miles under normal driving, more often in dusty conditions. The re-oil service isn't covered under warranty, but the intake itself is, for life.

Who Should Grab This
This is for the 1.5T or Si Civic owner who wants their turbo Civic to breathe, respond, and sound better, done right so it stays emissions-legal and doesn't throw codes. Bigger gains on the 1.5T, a solid bump on the Si, a silicone arm that keeps intake temps down, a sealed airbox that can't hydrolock, and a venturi MAF housing that keeps it running clean. Pick your engine, pick your color, and give the Civic the attitude Honda left out.
