Link G4X CivicLink Plug-In ECU - OBD1 & OBD2 B-Series

Standalone engine management usually means a harness, a mounting location, and a weekend of wiring. The CivicLink skips all of that. It fits inside your factory ECU enclosure, plugs into the existing loom with no modification, and gives you full G4X engine management on a B16 or B18 swap. Available in OBD1 and OBD2 versions.

Check Your Connector Before You Order

Most important thing on this page, and it matters more here because this is a final sale item. The two versions are distinguished by connector, and the color makes it easy to identify.

OBD1 (205-4000) has a white connector. For 1992-1995 applications using the Honda OBD1 ECU.

OBD2 (206-4000) has a gray connector. For 1996-1998 applications using the Honda OBD2A ECU.

Look at the plug on your car and match it to the product photos before ordering. Don't go by model year alone, especially on a swapped chassis where the ECU and harness may have come from a different car than the shell did. On a B-series swap that's more common than not.

Sales Are Final On This Item

Worth being upfront about. Tuning devices are non-returnable, so this is a final sale product with no returns or exchanges once it ships.

That's standard across the industry for ECUs and tuning hardware, but it does mean the connector check above isn't a suggestion. Confirm your plug, confirm your transmission, and get in touch if there's any doubt. We'd much rather answer a question now than have you stuck with the wrong unit.

It Goes In The Factory Enclosure

This is what makes the CivicLink different from most standalone options.

The unit fits inside your original ECU case and connects to the factory wiring loom without any alteration. No custom harness to build, no relocating the ECU, no cutting into wiring you'd rather leave alone.

Practically, that means an install measured in minutes rather than a weekend, and a car that still looks stock where the ECU lives. It also means you can go back to the factory ECU if you ever want to, since nothing has been modified to get there.

What You Get With G4X

Full standalone engine management, which is a genuinely different thing from a reflash or a piggyback.

You get complete control over fuel and ignition, support for most factory features so the car still behaves like a car, and expansion inputs and outputs for whatever you're adding to the build. Link's tuning software is well regarded and there's a large base of tuners familiar with it.

The expansion connector provides sensor ground, low current +5V supply, three analog 0-5V inputs, an auxiliary output, a digital input, and a temperature sensor input. That's enough to add sensors and controls as the build develops without needing another box.

Read These Before You Buy

Four things worth knowing up front rather than after.

Manual transmission only. Both versions. If your car is an automatic, this isn't the right ECU.

No onboard MAP sensor. You'll be running an external one, so plan for it in your build.

Knock control isn't available on the OBD1 version. Worth knowing if you're relying on it.

E-throttle needs a modification before it's usable, on both versions.

None of these are dealbreakers on a typical B-series build, but they're better known now than discovered mid-install.

Who Should Run This ECU

This is for the B-series builder who needs real engine management and would rather not build a harness to get it. Swapped chassis, built engine, boost, or anything past what a factory ECU can handle properly. You get full standalone control in the factory location with a plug-in install, which is about as painless as this gets. Check your connector color, confirm your transmission, and get it tuned.

Fits: B16 and B18 applications, see the OBD1 and OBD2 lists above. Part numbers: 205-4000 (OBD1, white connector), 206-4000 (OBD2, gray connector). Install: fits inside the factory ECU enclosure, no loom modification required. Transmission: manual only. Note: no onboard MAP sensor. Knock control not available on OBD1. E-throttle requires modification. All sales final, non-returnable.
