Link G4X S2000X Plug-In ECU - 2000-2005 Honda S2000 (233-4000)
The F20C is one of the great engines, and the factory ECU is what eventually limits what you can do with it. This Link G4X plug-in gives you full standalone engine management inside the original ECU enclosure, with no harness to build and no alteration to the factory loom. Everything the S2000 platform needs, in the location Honda already gave you.
Drive-By-Cable Throttle Only
Read this first, because it's the check that determines whether this ECU works on your car.
This ECU supports drive-by-cable throttle bodies only. It does not work with electronic throttle.
Go look at your throttle body. If there's a physical cable running to it from your pedal, you're good. If there isn't, this isn't your ECU. That's a thirty second check and it's worth doing before you order.
Also confirm your connector matches the header in the product photos, and note this is manual transmission only.
Sales Are Final On This Item
Worth being upfront about. Tuning devices are non-returnable, so this is a final sale product with no returns or exchanges once it ships.
Standard across the industry for ECUs and tuning hardware, but it does mean the throttle check above isn't a suggestion. Confirm your setup and get in touch if there's any doubt. We'd much rather answer a question now than have you stuck with the wrong unit.
It Goes In The Factory Enclosure
This is what makes a plug-in different from most standalone options.
The unit fits inside your original ECU case and connects to the factory loom without modification. No custom harness, no relocating the ECU, no cutting into wiring you'd rather leave alone.
Practically, that means an install measured in minutes and a car that still looks stock where the ECU lives. It also means you can return to the factory ECU if you ever want to, since nothing has been changed to get there.
What G4X Actually Gives You
This is full standalone management rather than a reflash, and the feature list reflects that.
Fuel and ignition get up to 6D mapping with sequential delivery, individual cylinder correction, staged injection, and QuickTune automated fuel tuning.
Cam control is precision closed loop across four cams with independent control, which on a VTEC engine is where a lot of the gain lives.
Boost control runs 5D with three switchable tables, referenced to gear, speed, or throttle position if you want it.
Motorsport features include antilag, launch control, and flat shift, along with gear compensations for spark, boost, and fuel.
Knock control with windowing, continuous onboard barometric correction, and real-time selectable dual fuel, ignition, and boost maps.
512MB of onboard logging memory plus stats recording, so you're not guessing at what happened on a session. USB tuning cable is included.
Triggering handles all OEM patterns digitally, and sync and crank sensors can be any combination of hall effect, variable reluctance, or optical. OEM idle hardware is supported, so the car still idles like a car.
Room To Grow
Three expansion connectors give you considerable I/O for whatever the build turns into.
The E-throttle connector provides signal ground, +5V out, four analog voltage inputs, and two auxiliary outputs. Expansion connector 1 adds signal ground, two auxiliary outputs, and five digital inputs. Expansion connector 2 provides signal ground, an auxiliary output, and two more analog voltage inputs.
That's enough headroom to add sensors, controls, and outputs as the car develops without needing another box.
New CAN Connector, Use The Right Cable
Important if you're connecting CAN devices, and it's a change from previous versions.
This plug-in uses a new 4-pin powered CAN connector, and the older CANPCB cable will not work with it. You need the CANJST4 cable (part 101-0198).
The upgrade is worth it though. The new port carries the CAN connection plus a protected 12V supply and ground for powering your CAN devices, with a self-resetting fuse rated at 3A continuous. That means one cable does what used to take separate power wiring.

Who Should Run This ECU
This is for the S2000 owner who's past what the factory ECU will allow, whether that's forced induction, a built engine, or serious track use where you want real control over cam timing and fuel. You get full standalone management in the factory location with a plug-in install and no harness work. Check your throttle body, confirm your connector, and get it on a dyno.
