PRODUCT DETAILS

Genuine Honda K20A2 Oil Cooler Hoses (19422-PRB-A01 & 19423-PRB-A01) - 2002-2006 RSX Type-S

Every DC5 Type-S is old enough now that its original rubber is on borrowed time, and the oil cooler hoses are a classic example. These carry oil to and from the cooler on your K20A2, they're EPDM rubber, and they spend their whole life getting cooked by engine heat and worked by constant flexing. Sooner or later one starts seeping, and if you've got an oil weep on the side of the motor, these hoses are a prime suspect. This is the genuine Honda replacement, and each hose is sold on its own, so you can fix the one that's actually leaking instead of buying a pair you don't need.

Figuring Out Which One You Need

Since they're sold separately, the trick is identifying the leaker, and it comes down to shape. The two hoses look clearly different once you know what to look for, so match yours and order that part number.

The 19422-PRB-A01 is the U-shaped hose. It's got the tight bend that loops back on itself, so if the wet one is the short, sharply curved hose, that's the one you want.

The 19423-PRB-A01 is the longer hose with the straighter, L-shaped run. No tight U-bend, just a longer gentler shape, so if that's the one that's seeping, order this part number.

Find the wet hose, follow it back, match it to the shape, and grab that number. If both are original and tired on a 20-year-old car, or you'd rather just handle it all at once, get the pair.

Go Genuine On An Oil Line

This carries your engine's oil, so a cheap universal hose isn't the place to save a few dollars. These are the exact EPDM rubber hoses Honda engineered for the K20A2, bent to route the way they're supposed to and sized to seal cleanly at the factory fittings. Genuine rubber stands up to the underhood heat and vacuum a generic hose won't, and it drops in without a fight or a connection you're second-guessing. On a Type-S you clearly care about, doing it right is worth more than doing it cheap.

One Or Both?

Something to weigh before you order. If one hose has finally given up on a car this age, the other one probably isn't far behind it. Replacing only the leaker is the cheaper, perfectly reasonable move, but if you're already under there and the second hose is baked and original, doing both now spares you a repeat job in a few months. Depends on what kind of shape the other one's in when you look.

Fitment

These fit the K20A2 engine in the 2002-2006 Acura RSX Type-S. If you're running a K20A2, whether it's still in a Type-S or it's gone into a swap, these are the correct oil cooler hoses for it.

Who This Is For

This is for the Type-S owner tracking down an oil leak, staying ahead of maintenance on a high-mileage DC5, or freshening things up during a build or engine swap. Old rubber is old rubber, and oil cooler hoses are exactly the kind of wear item worth replacing before it strands you. Sort out which one you need, or grab both, and put that leak behind you.
