Innovative Mounts D-Series Conversion Mount Kit for 88-91 Civic and CRX
This is the mount kit you need to run a newer 92 and up D-series with a hydraulic transmission in your 88-91 Civic or CRX, or to convert your original cable-transmission car over to a hydro setup. The stock EF chassis was built around the cable transmission, so bolting in a 92-00 D-series with the hydro trans means the engine and transmission sit differently than the factory ever planned for. This Innovative kit locates the whole drivetrain correctly, positions the engine with no axle bind, and gives you a solid, bolt-on foundation instead of fighting mismatched factory mounts that were never meant to hold that combination.
These are steel mounts in a wrinkle black finish, built for the loads of a swapped, performance-driven car. Innovative runs a spherical-bearing hydro actuator that mounts just like the factory unit and works in the same plane as the clutch release fork, so there is no fork binding and no premature clutch wear from a misaligned actuator. The whole kit is CAD/CAM designed and stress analyzed, and it carries a lifetime warranty. This is a proven piece of a D-series EF build, not a generic universal mount.
Read the fitment carefully before you order
This is a conversion kit, and conversion kits are specific. Getting the details right here is what separates a clean swap from an expensive mistake, and Innovative mounts cannot be returned once they have been bolted down, because they show bolt impressions. So confirm all of the following before you buy.
| Chassis | 88-91 Civic and CRX (ED/EE/EF) |
| Engine | 92-00 (92 and up) D-series |
| Transmission | Manual hydraulic, or converting cable to hydro |
| Engine year catch | Pre-1992 D-series uses a different kit (49151), the driver side mount differs |
| Required part you supply | Your original timing belt post mount, needed to fit the driver side mount |
| Actuator | This kit includes the hydro actuator |
The big one to catch: this kit is for 92 and up D-series engines. If you are running a first-generation, pre-1992 D-series, the driver side mount is different and you want part number 49151 instead. And whichever version you run, you need your original timing belt post mount to install the driver side mount, so do not toss it.

What to know before you buy
Confirm your exact combination first, because this is the kind of part that punishes guessing. You need an 88-91 Civic or CRX, a 92 and up D-series, and a manual hydraulic transmission (or you are converting from cable to hydro). If any of those three is different, this may be the wrong kit. Since the mounts cannot be returned once bolted, it is worth double-checking against your actual engine and transmission before anything goes in.
This is a job for someone who knows swaps. Innovative recommends installation by a mechanic or automotive specialist, and that is good advice, a conversion mount kit involves getting the engine and trans located correctly and the actuator geometry right. If you are doing your first swap, this is a reasonable point to lean on a shop with EF swap experience rather than learning on a $400 set of non-returnable mounts.
Keep your original timing belt post mount, you need it. The driver side mount in this kit is designed to work with your factory timing belt post mount, so that piece has to be reused. If it has already been removed or discarded, track one down before you start the install so you are not stuck partway through.
