Innovative Mounts 94-97 Accord EX F-Series Mount Kit
The 94-97 Accord EX is the one people actually keep. F22B1 with VTEC, a five speed, and a chassis that still handles once you stop the engine flopping around in it. The Innovative Mounts 94-97 Accord EX F-Series mount kit (part number 29757) replaces the three tired factory mounts in a manual CD5, CD7 or CE1 EX with polyurethane and steel, and it is the EX specific kit, not the DX/LX one.
What It Is and Why It Works
Factory Accord mounts are stamped steel shells with rubber bonded in, and two of them carry damping fluid. New, they are excellent at hiding the F22B1 from you. At 200,000 miles the rubber has torn, the fluid has seeped out, and the engine gets a running start before the axles do. That is your 1-2 shift shudder and your wheel hop out of a corner.
Innovative Mounts uses solid polyurethane bushings in welded steel brackets. Nothing to leak, nothing to tear, and the engine simply stops moving. Torque that was going into rocking the motor goes into the ground instead. On a stock F22B1 EX you will feel it most in traffic and on corner exit, where the drivetrain stops taking up slack before it takes up load.
Understand the cost. Polyurethane is stiffer than the factory fluid mount, and a stiffer mount sends more engine noise and vibration into the chassis, not less. That is physics, not a defect, and any listing that promises these will smooth out an old Accord is lying to you. What you choose is how much of it you are willing to feel, and durometer is the dial.
Innovative offers this kit in 75A (black), 85A (grey) and 95A (red), rated by the manufacturer for roughly 250 to 400 hp, 400 to 500 hp and 500 hp and up respectively. A stock or lightly built F22B1 EX that still gets driven daily should be on 75A. Pick 85A if the car sees track days or boost. The 95A is nearly a solid mount and it will drone the whole cabin at idle, so leave it for a race car. Buying the highest number on a street car is the single most common mistake with this kit.

EX trim with a manual transmission only. This is not the DX or LX kit and it is not the automatic kit. The factory mount hardware differs between EX and DX/LX cars, and Innovative builds separate part numbers to match. If you have a DX or LX with a five speed, part number 29754 is your kit. If you have an automatic of any trim, part number 29756 is your kit.
What to Know Before You Buy
The engine mount in this kit needs the F-Series timing belt post mount from a 95-98 Odyssey or a 94-02 Accord, Honda part number 11910-P0A-010. Check whether your F22B1 already has it before the engine is on a leveler at 9pm. This trips up more people than any other detail on this part.
Confirm your rear mount style before you order, because it is the fastest way to tell an EX chassis from a DX or LX chassis. The manual EX uses a tall rear mount with a four hole bolt pattern. The DX and LX use a short rear mount with a three hole pattern that sits flat on the subframe. Most automatics use a tall three bolt mount with a vacuum solenoid attached. Crawl under the car and count holes. Two minutes there beats a set of mounts you cannot return.
What is in the box is three mounts: engine, transmission and rear. The front torque mount is a separate part number and it is not included, so if yours is soft you are only two thirds done. Everything bolts up with factory hardware and nothing on the hood needs trimming.
Once a mount has been bolted down it shows bolt impressions and it cannot be returned or exchanged, so test fit and confirm trim and transmission first. Innovative states a lifetime warranty on these.
If the car is an H22A or H23 swap rather than a stock F22B1 EX, this is the wrong page. The conversion kits are different part numbers with a different post mount requirement. And once the mounts are solid, the Innovative Mounts traction bar for the 94-97 Accord and Odyssey is the honest next step if you are still lifting a wheel on corner exit.
