Automatic fourth gen Preludes are the ones nobody builds parts for, and by now every one of them is riding on thirty year old mounts. If your BB shudders in drive at a stoplight and thumps when it takes off, this is the kit for it.

What It Is and Why It Works

Replacement mount kit for the BB chassis with an F or H-series and an automatic transmission, using tapered polyurethane bushings in place of the factory fluid filled rubber. The automatic masks drivetrain slop until the mounts collapse, and then it shows up all at once. Poly does not sag with age, so the engine stays located and the car stops rocking on every shift.

75A is the durometer for a street driven automatic Prelude, which is all of them. 85A and 95A are listed but they belong in track and drag cars, not a car with a torque converter.

This is the automatic kit. A manual 92-96 Prelude uses the 29650 replacement kit, and the 97-01 fifth gen cars use the 20150 kit.

What to Know Before You Buy

Automatic or manual decides this purchase, and the 29650 kit is the manual version. The two are easy to confuse because the part numbers are one digit apart.

We recommend that you stay at 75A. An automatic Prelude is a comfortable street car and a stiff bushing like the 85A or 95A options work against everything that makes it pleasant. We would rather sell the kit you keep than the one you pull back out.

Look at the front torque mount while you are under there. On a BB it wears at the same rate, and it is 29640 or 29740 depending on whether the car runs the competition traction bar. Mounts cannot be returned once they have been bolted down.
