Innovative 90-93 Accord EX H/F-Series Swap Mount Kit
Your CB7 or CB9 Accord EX already has a five speed in it. Now there is an H22A or H23A on the stand, or you have sourced a 94-01 F-series transmission to get better gearing behind the F22A. Either way, the factory mount locations no longer line up with what you are installing. Innovative Mounts part 29351 is the mount kit for that specific job, and it is not the same thing as an automatic-to-manual kit.
What It Is and Why It Works
Read the fitment carefully because this is the single most misunderstood part number in the CB7 catalog. The 29351 kit is built for a 1990-1993 Accord EX that left the factory as a manual car and is being converted to an H-series engine or a 94-01 F-series manual transmission. If your EX is an automatic and you are doing the auto-to-manual five speed conversion, Innovative builds a different version of this kit around a different right-hand mount, sold as part 29357. Buying 29351 for an automatic car is the mistake that ends with a mount you cannot return.
Beyond that, the kit does what every Innovative steel mount kit does. The mount bodies are steel, and the engine load runs through pressed-in polyurethane inserts instead of the fluid-filled rubber Honda used on the F22A. Deleting the damping oil chamber is the whole point: the engine stops rocking on its mounts under load, the shift linkage sees less movement, and wheel hop on a hard launch goes away. That is a real gain on a 200-plus horsepower H22A in a car that weighs what a CB7 weighs.
The honest half of that trade is noise. Urethane mounts send more engine vibration into the chassis than OEM rubber, not less, and a higher durometer number means more of it. The old copy on this page claimed these bushings reduce vibration and make the ride smoother. They do not. They tighten the driveline and hand you buzz in the shifter and the steering wheel in exchange. Innovative rates 75A (black) for roughly 250 to 400hp and 85A (grey) for 400 to 500hp. On a street CB7 running an H22A, take the 75A. Owners across the Innovative range consistently describe 85A as fine at idle and rough from about 1200 to 3000 rpm, which is most of a commute. If the car is a weekend or track car, 85A is the one.

Fitment
| Year | Make | Model | Trim | Engine |
| 1990-1993 | Honda | Accord | EX | F22A factory, H22A or H23A swapped |
Trim matters here and so does the transmission the car came with. The Accord DX and LX use a different mount arrangement on the CB7 and CB9 chassis and have their own Innovative kits. This one is EX only. And again, the car must already be a manual. An automatic EX needs part 29357, which is the same kit built around a different right-hand mount. Note that if you are keeping a 90-93 transmission rather than fitting a 94-01 one, Innovative lists part 29352 for that combination, so confirm which transmission is going in before you order.
What to Know Before You Buy
You must have the Honda F-series timing belt post mount, part number 90008-PM3-000, to run this kit. It is not included and Innovative does not sell it. Have it in hand before the engine goes back in.
If you are going H-series in a CB7, the mounts are one line item on a long list. You still need the H-series transmission and its axles, the correct intermediate shaft, a swap harness or a rewired engine harness, the H-series shift linkage, a clutch actuation plan (cable versus hydraulic changes what else you buy), and a radiator and cooling setup that suits the new engine. If you are staying F-series and just fitting the 94-01 transmission for the gearing, the parts list is much shorter but the mount kit is still mandatory because the mount geometry changed between the 90-93 and 94-01 transmission cases.
Innovative will not accept mounts back once they have been bolted down and the bolts have left impressions in the powder coat. On a part number this easy to confuse, that policy has teeth. Before you order, answer two questions out loud: is my EX a factory manual, and am I installing an H-series engine or a 94-01 F-series transmission. If the answer to the first one is no, you want 29357.
One more note on options. Innovative offers this kit in 95A red for 500hp and up. We currently stock 75A and 85A. If you are building a boosted H22A past 500hp, ask us before you order rather than settling for 85A, because Innovative will only change bushing hardness one level at a time under their replacement process.
While the engine is out, do the bushings and boots you cannot reach otherwise. CB7 lower control arm bushings, radius rod bushings and axle boots are all thirty years old on these cars, and a front torque mount plus a traction bar is what most people add next once the H22A starts making real power.
