Innovative Mounts 88-91 Prelude H-Series Swap Kit - Part #29152
This is the conversion mount kit for putting an H22 into an 88-91 Prelude BA. It is the natural upgrade path for the third gen car, which came with a B20A that the aftermarket largely forgot, and the kit handles the mount side of the swap.
What It Is and Why It Works
Four position conversion kit for the BA chassis with an H-series engine and manual transmission. The H22 is a bigger, heavier engine than the B20A it replaces, so the whole mounting geometry changes. This kit locates it correctly rather than adapting the factory positions.
75A is the durometer for a street driven H-swapped Prelude. 85A for track or boost, 95A for race. There is no 60A option here, same as the EF H-swap mount, which is a sensible call given the power involved.

88-89 Cars Need an Extra Bracket
Early 88-89 Preludes need one additional part that 90-91 cars already have. You will need to source the driver side frame bracket from a 90-91 Prelude and bolt it onto the frame rail. Unlike most Honda and Acura frame rail pocket mounts, this bracket is not welded in from the factory, so it bolts into place without cutting or welding. Find that bracket before you start the swap rather than after the engine is out.
What to Know Before You Buy
Check the year of your car first. A 90-91 BA has what it needs. An 88-89 requires the donor frame bracket described above, and that is a used part you will have to hunt down.
An H22 into a BA Prelude is a full project. Axles, cooling, wiring and exhaust all need answers, and the mounts are what make the rest possible rather than the whole job.
75A for a street car. Mounts cannot be returned once they have been bolted down.
