Innovative Mounts Competition Traction Bar for 88-91 Prelude - 59113
This is the competition traction bar for a third gen 88-91 Prelude BA. It ties the front lower control arms to the frame, which is the single most effective thing you can do about wheel hop on a front drive car.
What It Is and Why It Works
The bar increases rigidity and stability in the front suspension by tying the lower control arms into the frame. A solid front end means more traction and no wheel hop, which for drag racers shows up directly in 60-foot times and for road racers in cornering speed.
It does two things at once: it reduces unwanted lateral lower arm movement, and it ties the lower control arms together so load is shared rather than taken by one side. On a thirty five year old chassis that has flexed for decades, the difference is immediate.
One part, no options. Works with manual or automatic transmissions.

This is the third gen BA Prelude bar. The 92-01 Prelude uses the 50110 traction bar, the 88-91 Civic and CRX use 59112, and the 92-00 Civic and 94-01 Integra use their own competition bar.
What to Know Before You Buy
Chassis generation decides this one. A fourth or fifth gen Prelude needs the 50110 bar instead, and the two are not interchangeable despite sharing a model name.
This is a chassis stiffening part, not a mount. It works alongside engine mounts rather than replacing them, and the combination is what settles a built Prelude.
Installation is best done by a shop. Parts cannot be returned once they have been bolted down.
