Innovative Mounts D-Series Mount Kit for 88-91 Civic Wagon 4WD - 19153

The EE4 Civic Wagon with the RT4WD setup is one of the odder things Honda sold here, and nothing about its mount layout matches a normal EF. Owners who go looking for mounts end up with kits that fit a front drive car and do not clear the transfer case side of the drivetrain. This kit is cut for the 4WD wagon specifically, D-series with a cable transmission.

What It Is and Why It Works

Four mount positions, formed steel, tapered polyurethane bushings in place of the factory fluid filled rubber. On a wagon that has spent 35 years hauling things, the stock mounts are done, and because the 4WD car has a driveshaft running rearward, engine movement shows up as driveline vibration rather than just wheel hop. Holding the engine still matters more here than on a standard EF.

60A is the bushing for a wagon that gets driven. 75A if it sees hard use or the motor has been worked over. 85A and 95A are race options and do not belong in a car like this, which is usually a keeper rather than a track toy.

This is the 4WD wagon kit. A front drive 88-91 Civic or CRX with a D-series and cable box uses the 19151 or B19151 kits instead.

What to Know Before You Buy

Confirm the car is the real 4WD wagon and not a front drive wagon, since both were sold and they look nearly identical from outside. Look for the rear driveshaft and the transfer case on the back of the transmission.

Stay at 60A or 75A. These cars are heavy for an EF, quiet for an EF, and almost always daily driven, so a race durometer buys you nothing and takes away the thing that makes the wagon pleasant.

Parts for RT4WD cars are getting genuinely scarce, so if you have one apart, replace everything rubber while you can. Mounts, shift linkage bushings and driveshaft support hardware all wear together, and sourcing them later takes longer every year. Mounts cannot be returned after being bolted down, so confirm the drivetrain before ordering.
