Hybrid Racing Formula Cat-Back Exhaust System - 2017-2021 Honda Civic Type R FK8
The FK8 Civic Type R's got one problem. It doesn't sound like it should. The K20C1 makes 306 hp from the factory and it screams to 7000 RPM but the stock exhaust muffles all of it. You're on the throttle hard and the engine sounds muted. Subdued. Like Honda wrapped the whole exhaust system in insulation and told it to be quiet. That's fine for a Civic Si. It's not fine for a Type R. We built the Hybrid Racing Formula exhaust system to fix that. This is a complete cat-back exhaust with an electronic valve, custom-designed resonator and muffler, adjustable hangers, and a dry carbon fiber rear valence that replaces the stock triple-tip setup. You're getting a exhaust that sounds aggressive when you want it to and civilized when you don't. The valve's electronic so you're controlling it from the cabin. Open valve sounds like a race car. Closed valve sounds like a stock Type R with a little more edge. This is what you install when you're done with Honda's muted exhaust note and you're ready to hear what a turbocharged VTEC engine actually sounds like.
Built from Scratch for Quality, Functionality, and Affordability
Building the best exhaust for the FK8 meant starting from scratch. We sat down with a blank sheet and wrote out everything we wanted this system to be. Quality first. The exhaust had to be built from materials that won't crack, rust, or fail. Functionality next. It had to bolt on correctly, make power, and sound good. We wanted something unique. Something that stood out in a market that's already flooded with FK8 exhausts. And we wanted it to be affordable. Not cheap. Affordable. There's a difference. You're getting a complete cat-back system with an electronic valve, custom muffler, custom resonator, and a dry carbon rear valence for less than what some companies charge for just a muffler. Every piece of this system was chosen specifically for the Type R. The flanges are custom-designed. The hardware's aerospace-grade stainless so it doesn't strip or rust. The resonator and muffler are our own designs. They're not off-the-shelf units we grabbed from a supplier. We built them specifically to deliver the sound we wanted for this car.
Electronic Valve Control - Loud When You Want It, Quiet When You Don't
The midpipe's got the electronic valve and dual adapters so it bolts to any front pipe. Stock front pipe. Catted aftermarket downpipe. Catless downpipe. Doesn't matter. The adapters let you run whatever you want up front and the exhaust still bolts on correctly. The valve's what controls the sound. Valve closed and you're running through the resonator and muffler. The exhaust is quiet. Livable. You can drive to work without your neighbors hating you. Valve open and you're bypassing most of the muffling. The exhaust is loud. Aggressive. Race car loud. You're hearing turbo spool. You're hearing VTEC crossover. You're hearing the K20C1 scream all the way to redline. The valve's controlled electronically so you're opening and closing it from inside the cabin. Some people leave it closed all the time and only open it when they're driving hard. Some people leave it open all the time because they want to hear the car. Some people run it closed in neighborhoods and open on the highway. Whatever works for you.
Dry Carbon Fiber Rear Valence and Multiple Exhaust Tip Options
The rear muffler's got adjustable hangers so you're dialing in the fitment exactly where you want it. The tips aren't sitting crooked. They're not hanging too low or too high. You're adjusting the hangers until everything's flush and aligned correctly. The dry carbon fiber rear valence replaces the stock plastic rear bumper section with the factory triple-tip cutouts. Honda's triple-tip design looks like they couldn't decide between dual tips or a single center tip so they did both. It's busy. The Hybrid Racing carbon valence cleans that up. You're getting a smooth carbon panel with cutouts for dual tips. It looks way cleaner. The valence is real dry carbon fiber. Not fake plastic carbon-look wrap. Real carbon with a clear coat. We're offering multiple exhaust tip options so you can pick the look you want. Flush tips that sit nearly inside the bumper for a blown-diffuser race look. Traditional rolled tips if you want something more aggressive. Black tips. Bronze tips. Gunmetal tips. Pick whatever matches your build.
